Description -

This role is responsible for driving the security, integrity, and resilience of software products throughout their lifecycle. The role specializes in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating security risks and vulnerabilities within software products. The role focuses on ensuring that software applications and systems are designed, developed, and deployed with robust security measures to protect sensitive data, prevent unauthorized access, and maintain the overall integrity of the software product.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and security solutions.

  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, debugging, and integration.

  • Develop and maintain features for Windows desktop applications and services.

  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve software issues.

  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

  • Create and execute unit tests to ensure software quality and reliability.

  • Participate in code reviews and follow software development best practices.

  • Work in an Agile development environment and contribute to sprint planning and execution.

  • Learn and apply security best practices in software design and implementation.

  • Support product releases and maintenance activities as needed.



Education & Experience Recommended

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.

  • 4-7 years of work experience, preferably in software security and automation, or a related field or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of work experience.


Preferred Certifications

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional

  • Systems Security Certified Practitioner

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proficiency in one or more of the following technologies:

    • C/C++

    • C#

    • .NET / .NET Core

    • WPF

    • XAML

  • Experience with object-oriented design and software development principles.

  • Experience with unit testing frameworks and methodologies.

  • Familiarity with Agile development practices and tools such as Azure DevOps (ADO).

  • Understanding of Windows application development.

  • Knowledge of Windows operating system fundamentals, including:

    • Windows Registry

    • Certificates

    • File and folder permissions

    • Local and domain user security

  • Basic understanding of Windows programming concepts such as:

    • Multi-threading

    • Sockets

    • Inter-process communication

  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of software security principles and secure coding practices.

  • Basic understanding of cryptography and authentication technologies.

  • Experience with one or more of the following:

    • ReactJS

    • Python

    • Django

    • Go

    • Rust

    • Xamarin

  • Familiarity with technologies such as:

    • WMI

    • COM

    • Networking

    • Concurrency

    • Databases

    • Performance optimization

  • Experience developing web applications using:

    • JavaScript frameworks

    • HTML5

    • CSS

The pay range for this role is $105,050 to $161,800 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
