Photocopier Technician

Amentum is seeking a Photocopier Technician to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The Photocopier Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the operational readiness of photocopying equipment. This position requires technical expertise in diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, performing preventive maintenance, replacing worn components, and maintaining equipment in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform routine inspections, cleaning, maintenance, and functional testing of photocopy machines.
• Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions to restore operational readiness.
• Replace worn or damaged components, including cleaning gears, rollers, belts, and electronic circuits.
• Conduct preventive maintenance according to manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain adequate inventories of consumable supplies such as toner, cleaning materials, and replacement parts.
• Document all maintenance, repairs, parts replacements, and service activities.
• Respond quickly to service requests and troubleshoot reported equipment issues.
• Work to minimize equipment downtime and maintain high operational availability.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance scheduled for multiple locations.
• Ensure all photocopy equipment meets cleanliness, performance, and operational standards.
• Follow all company safety policies.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.

Minimum RequirementsRequired Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience inspecting, maintaining, and repairing photocopiers or similar office equipment.
• Strong knowledge of photocopier operation, diagnostics, and component repair.
• Experience managing consumable supplies and replacement parts.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service documentation.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem solving skills.
• Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
• Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
• Ability to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
• Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance throughout the duration of deployment.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. 
• Must read, speak, and comprehend English to the extent that they can perform the contract requirements and comply with installation emergency procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience working in an austere OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) environment with a multi-national workforce
• A valid driver’s license to legally operate a motor vehicle. Valid country driver’s license. and passport.
• Technical training or certification in photocopier maintenance or repair.
• Experience servicing Canon, Ricoh, Xerox, or similar commercial photocopier brands.
• Previous experience supporting photocopy equipment in military or government environments.

Working Environment

This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in office, industrial, warehouse, port, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.

Physical Requirements

 Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment requirements associated with assignment to a remote overseas location.
