HP is hiring for a Retail Media COE Expert and the role will be responsible for leading retail media strategy, governance, and activation across key retail partners while serving as the connective link between Marketing, Omni-Commerce, Sales, Category, Analytics, and external agency teams. This role drives integrated retail media planning, activation excellence, measurement, and continuous optimization to accelerate business growth and strengthen retailer partnerships.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in retail media, shopper marketing, eCommerce, or digital media, with proven expertise managing retail media programs across major retailers and leading complex cross-functional stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Retail Media Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and lead the retail media strategy across all priority retail partners.
  • Establish retail media best practices, frameworks, and governance through a Center of Excellence model.
  • Develop annual and quarterly retail media roadmaps aligned to business, category, and commercial objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve audience targeting, measurement, attribution, and return on investment.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as the primary liaison between Marketing, Omni-Commerce, Sales, Category, Analytics, Finance, and Retailer teams.
  • Align retail media investments with business priorities, category growth opportunities, and retailer objectives.
  • Facilitate joint business planning discussions and ensure retail media activation supports broader omnichannel strategies.
  • Drive stakeholder alignment on goals, KPIs, audience strategies, and investment decisions.

Agency Leadership & Activation Oversight

  • Lead agency partners responsible for retail media planning, activation, optimization, and reporting.
  • Ensure campaigns are executed on time, on budget, and according to agreed business objectives.
  • Challenge and guide agency recommendations using performance insights and market knowledge.
  • Drive consistency in activation standards, reporting methodologies, and performance measurement.

Retailer Management

  • Partner with major retail media networks and platforms to identify strategic opportunities, innovation pilots, and growth initiatives.
  • Maintain deep understanding of retailer capabilities, audience solutions, measurement approaches, and emerging products.
  • Evaluate and prioritize retailer investments based on business impact and performance.

Measurement & Performance Optimization

  • Establish KPI frameworks and reporting standards across retail media programs.
  • Analyze campaign performance and translate insights into actionable business recommendations.
  • Drive continuous optimization of audience strategies, bidding approaches, creative effectiveness, and investment allocation.
  • Present performance results and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

Innovation & Capability Building

  • Identify emerging retail media trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Lead testing and learning agendas across retailers, audience solutions, and measurement capabilities.
  • Build organizational knowledge and retail media capabilities through training, documentation, and stakeholder education.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in Retail Media, eCommerce Media, Digital Media, Shopper Marketing, Omnichannel Marketing, or related fields.
  • Proven experience managing media programs across major retail media networks (e.g., Amazon, Walmart Connect, Target Roundel, Kroger Precision Marketing, Instacart, Best Buy Ads, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of retail media planning, activation, measurement, attribution, and audience strategies.
  • Experience leading external media agencies and performance management processes.
  • Demonstrated success working across Marketing, Sales, Omnichannel, Commerce, and Analytics organizations.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders and influencing without direct authority.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a global or matrixed organization.
  • Experience building or leading Retail Media Centers of Excellence.
  • Knowledge of first-party data, identity solutions, commerce media, and closed-loop measurement.
  • Experience managing significant media investments and retail partnerships.

Success Measures

  • Retail media sales and revenue growth.
  • ROAS and media efficiency improvements.
  • Increased retailer engagement and partnership effectiveness.
  • Strong cross-functional stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Successful delivery of retail media innovation and test-and-learn programs.
  • Consistent execution of best practices across all retail media activations.

Ideal Profile: A strategic retail media leader who can seamlessly connect Sales, Marketing, Omni-Commerce, Retailers, and Agencies while driving activation excellence and business growth across a complex retail ecosystem.

The pay range for this role is $105,050 to $161,800 USD annually with additional
opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United
States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related
knowledge, skills, and experience.
