Mission Systems Software Test Architect

The Boeing CompanyBoeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Mission Systems Software Test Architect to join the Air Dominance Software Team in Berkeley, MO. Boeing is building the next generation of avionics platforms and the infrastructure required to test and validate designs; we’re looking for enthusiastic software engineers to join us on that journey.
As part of a Mission Systems Software team, you’ll provide engineering leadership by directing software verification activities that develop automated test products and toolsets to address the complex demands of testing advanced avionics systems. The successful candidate will work with program management to ensure verification activities are accomplished in accordance with the program schedule and budget.

Position Responsibilities:
Leads software team in the integration of automated test frameworks and tools to provide a multifaceted and unified automated test environment for verifying advanced avionics software
Drives improvements in test development efficiency and effectiveness through use of AI/ML agents.
Ensures test products verify functionality, performance, and safety of software systems, identifying and reporting defects, issues, and potential vulnerabilities found during testing processes including formal qualification testing of all software.
Partners with appropriate stakeholders to develop a Mission Systems IPT Test Plan defining all stages, methods, criteria, and artifacts of automated software testing from development to Formal Qualification Testing.
Coordinates with SME’s, TLE’s, and Software Leadership to ensure test team efforts are aligned with achieving program objectives and ensuring timely delivery of testing solutions.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Berkeley, MO.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
Active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
Ability to obtain access to Special Access Programs (SAP)
Bachelor's Degree
5+ years of experience leading a software development project or team
3+ years of experience with the design and leadership of automated test system development projects
5+ years of experience with full life-cycle software development, modeling, simulation, testing, and/or analysis using C, C++, C#, Python, Java, Ada, and/or Linux
Experience in design, development, and deployment of AI & ML models
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 14+ years of related work experience or Bachelor’s Degree and 18+ years of directly related work experience or 22+ years of related, relevant experience
Strong verbal and written skills, teaming skills, technical skills, and integration skills
Experience using AI/ML agents to automate software development and/or verification tasking
Experience developing real-time, embedded Mission Systems software on aircraft platforms
Experience with Open Mission Systems software architecture
Experience with Computer Vision techniques and tools
Experience with OpenAI and Google AI/ML agents
Experience in systems integration with systems engineering processes and procedures
Familiarity with safety critical software development, verification, and airworthiness certification requirements (MIL-HDBK-516C, DO-178C, etc)
Knowledge of implementation of software test frameworks, tools and simulations. Knowledge of internal and external software test frameworks, architectures, best practices and application in industry
