We are seeking a self-motivated, experienced Manufacturing Engineer who provides innovative and effective solutions, identifies opportunities to improve processes, and actively engages in learning from its peers and stakeholders. This individual will also help grow the technical capabilities of the team by sharing their knowledge and insight based on their past manufacturing experience.

As part of the Manufacturing Part Cost discipline, you will contribute to the advancement of part cost assessments and analysis methods, assess financial impact of new technologies, and support manufacturing cost reduction initiatives. You will be part of a group of specialists responsible for developing and maintaining part cost estimation models and the tools associated with them. The primary focus will be to create cost estimation models and assess the business implications of new product designs, new technology, and product design changes as well as creating estimates for manufacturing processes.

What You Will Do:

  • Collaborate cross functionally with various stakeholders to include engineering, Strategic Sourcing, Global Supply Chain, and the Partnership Program Office.
  • Develop and maintain cost estimation models and its methods and define estimating rationale to support stakeholders’ decisions.
  • Review engineering changes, product definition, supplier information, and manufacturing data to provide stakeholders with manufacturing cost impact assessments.
  • Support Manufacturing Readiness (MRL) by providing cost estimates and evaluations.
  • Potential to participate in supplier and partner negotiations to substantiate cost estimation model elements.


Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical) or related technical degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
  • Proficient in working within the NX environment and capable of adapting to tools such as DFMA, aPriori, among others.
  • Able to collect and analyze data efficiently within the O365 ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis.
  • This position requires travel up to 15% domestic & international.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience in Export Control and CORE Apprentice Level training (Continuous Improvement Tools).
  • Basic understanding of Supply Chain/Strategic Sourcing processing of LTA agreements.
  • Experience with CAM programming and machining.
  • Experience PowerBI, SQL, Power Query, Matlab and Python knowledge.
  • Experience with COPQ implications on part costs.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). If you live within a reasonable commute of an RTX site with other colleagues you interact with, your manager will discuss whether there is a degree of onsite presence associated with this role.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
