The Boeing Company is looking for an Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineer to join our team in El Segundo, CA. The Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineer supports the electromagnetic compatibility and related tasks through all satellite program phases.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Interface effectively with all technical disciplines in a team environment to trade factors such as survivability, cost, weight and technical risk in arriving at the final design.

  • Perform electromagnetic compatibility requirements verification testing, electrical circuit analysis, and support unit-level, device-level, and material susceptibility testing and analysis.

  • Assists in developing, documenting, and verifying electromagnetic compatibility requirements for various space based systems, their corresponding subsystems and electronic units.

  • Performs basic analysis to predict component performance to established requirements.

  • Conducts tests to validate performance of designs to requirements.

  • Collects data on supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance to requirements.

  • Gathers information to support development of sections of proposals to support development of new business.

  • Works under supervision of a technical lead engineer (TLE).

  

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post Start is required.

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • Experience in a role which required knowledge of MIL-STD-461

  • Experience in the use of the following electronic test equipment: network analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers

  • 3 or more years of experience with EMI/EMC analysis and test related to requirements derivation, validation, and verification.

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time (approximately once a month)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Level 4: Typically, 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications.

  • Active U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance

  • Experience in spacecraft system design, development, test and evaluation

  • Familiarity with software tools such as MatLab, MathCAD, PSPICE, and ANSYS HFSS and Maxwell.

Experienced, Level 3: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Lead, Level 4: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Experienced (Level 3) Summary Pay Range: $119,850 - $162,150

Lead (Level 4) Summary Pay Range: $146,200 - $197,800

Security Clearance:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
