This role connects the gaming ecosystem to HP’s product and brand strategy, ensuring partnerships go beyond sponsorship and become meaningful parts of product launches, campaigns, content, community engagement, and brand storytelling.

The manager will lead a team of partnership specialists, establish priorities across the portfolio, and work closely with Product Marketing, Brand, Social, PR, Markets, and other cross-functional teams to maximize the impact of HP’s gaming partnerships globally.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Partnership Strategy:

  • Manage and develop a team responsible for game developer and publisher partnerships, esports teams and players, creators, influencers, and gaming talent.
  • Set priorities across the partnership portfolio based on business objectives, product roadmaps, audience relevance, and brand strategy.
  • Establish clear roles, goals, and expectations for the team while supporting their professional development and performance.
  • Build a cohesive partnership strategy that connects traditionally separate areas such as esports, creators, game developers, and talent.
  • Evaluate new partnership opportunities and determine where HP Gaming should invest, expand, maintain, or exit relationships.

Gaming & Esports Partnerships:

  • Oversee strategic relationships with game developers, publishers, esports organizations, professional players, creators, and other gaming partners.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate partners into product launches, campaigns, events, content, social programs, retail activations, and community experiences.
  • Ensure partnerships have a clear role in supporting HP Gaming's broader product and brand narrative rather than operating as standalone sponsorships.
  • Partner with Product Marketing and Category teams to connect upcoming products and technologies with relevant games, creators, players, teams, and communities.
  • Develop activation plans that maximize the value and reach of partnership investments globally.

Brand & Product Integration:

  • Work closely with Brand, Product Marketing, Social, PR, and Campaign teams to incorporate gaming partnerships into integrated marketing programs.
  • Translate partner credibility, expertise, audiences, and communities into compelling reasons for gamers to engage with HP Gaming products and brands.
  • Identify opportunities for partners to contribute to product storytelling, product feedback, launches, reviews, demonstrations, content, and experiences.
  • Ensure partnership activations feel authentic to gaming audiences and strengthen HP's credibility within gaming culture.

Global & Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Serve as a key partnership contact for worldwide Gaming Marketing and collaborate with regional teams to identify locally relevant activation opportunities.
  • Partner with Product Marketing, GTM, Markets, Category, Social, PR, Brand, and Campaign teams to align partnership priorities with broader business objectives.
  • Coordinate with external partners, agencies, talent representatives, and rights holders to ensure effective execution of programs.
  • Create clear communication and planning processes so internal teams understand available partnerships, talent, rights, assets, and activation opportunities.

Partnership Performance & Operations:

  • Establish objectives, KPIs, and measurement frameworks for partnership programs.
  • Track partnership performance and use results to inform future investment and portfolio decisions.
  • Manage partnership budgets, contracts, activation commitments, and agency resources in partnership with appropriate internal teams.
  • Maintain visibility into the global partnership portfolio, upcoming opportunities, contractual deliverables, and major activation moments.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in gaming, esports, partnerships, influencer/creator marketing, brand marketing, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of gaming culture, esports, game publishers and developers, creators, and the broader gaming ecosystem.
  • Experience managing employees or leading teams responsible for complex programs and external relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage strategic partnerships and translate them into meaningful marketing activations.
  • Experience working with talent, creators, esports organizations, game developers/publishers, agencies, or other external partners.
  • Strong understanding of integrated marketing and how partnerships can support product launches, brand storytelling, social content, events, and community engagement.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple partnerships, timelines, budgets, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally within a fast-paced, global, matrixed organization.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
  • Ability to move quickly, make prioritization decisions, and adapt programs based on changes in gaming culture, business priorities, or market conditions.
