Job Description
Would you like to join an incredibly talented group of people, doing very challenging work, with the prime directive of “Keeping Our Heroes Connected”?
THE OPPORTUNITY
Silvus is seeking a highly motivated Technical Product Manager (TPM) to drive requirements, product backlog, market adoption, and revenue growth for the Electronic Warfare (EW) & Sensing Solutions product portfolio. This position will report to the Director of Product Management on the Product team.
The successful individual in this role will play a vital role in translating complex defense requirements into specific hardware configurations, software specifications, and intuitive operator experiences. This is a technical execution role requiring a deep understanding of tactical RF networks, signal analysis, sensing systems, and software-defined architectures.
This position bridges the gap between tactical EW mission requirements and engineering execution. While Silvus’ core hardware team drives the physical New Product Introduction (NPI) of Silvus’ flagship radio chassis, this role drives the hardware New Product Introduction (NPI) and complete physical lifecycle execution for our highly specialized FASST Sensing Technology and related products. Additionally, you will focus on the tactical application of our core technologies—optimizing our transceiver platforms for edge-node operations and enabling high-performance RF data exchange with downstream processing applications and external tactical ecosystems. You will hold complete technical requirements, hardware NPI, and user experience ownership for our sensor products. The role requires up to 25% of travel to support field testing, customer integrations, or customer meetings.
This position is located at Silvus Technologies’ Engineering and R&D Office in Irvine, CA, near the vibrant Irvine Spectrum and is on a hybrid schedule, with one day reporting to our West Los Angeles HQ. On-site days are Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays at our Irvine office and Thursdays at our West Los Angeles HQ.
The following is a list of at least some of the current essential job functions of the position. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time at its discretion.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Definition & Technical Execution
Requirements Engineering: Translating high-level tactical EW mission capabilities into granular, software user stories and hardware/sensor configurations.
FASST & LSNRS Ownership & NPI: Directing the technical requirements, driving physical hardware New Product Introduction (NPI) cycles, and validating the end-to-end user experience for the FASST Handheld and LSNRS product portfolios, ensuring operational interfaces and dedicated hardware platforms are optimized for combat and emergency responders in high-stress situations.
Tactical Applications: Owning and defining how the transceiver operates for edge node operations.
Engineering Liaison: Collaborating closely with hardware and software engineering teams.
Tactical Lifecycle & Agile Backlog Management
Sprint & Backlog Ownership: Managing sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release cadences for specialized EW-related software features, firmware builds, and technical updates.
Scope & Trade-off Analysis: Conducting technical analysis of customer feature requests, evaluating engineering timelines, and establishing scope boundaries to balance schedule constraints against field expectations.
Product Lifecycle & NPI Management: Overseeing the technical lifecycle and physical hardware New Product Introduction (NPI) of the FASST and LSNRS products from initial concept, prototype validation, physical manufacturing coordination, and regulatory clearance through development, operational test and evaluation, deployment, and long-term sustainment.
Post-launch Performance: Responsible for product adoption and collaborating with sales to generate interest and revenue growth for the products. Measuring and monitoring product performance, defining continuous software refinement cycles to address user experience debt or newly discovered threat vectors and continuing to capture customer and field feedback for product updates.
Customer Integration & Cross-Functional Alignment
Cross-Functional Synergy: Bridging the gap between R&D, engineering, operations, and the go-to-market teams to align product execution with broader business strategy, target BOM costs, and delivery timelines.
Operational Feedback Loop: Partnering with Sales, Business Development, and Applications Engineering to translate complex operator feedback, program office specifications, and competitive intelligence into actionable feature priorities.
Ecosystem Enablement: Supporting defense integrators and system engineers in validating plug-and-play integrations of Silvus EW/Sensing technologies into terrestrial, aerial, and maritime platforms.
