Competitive & Strategic Insights works closely with leadership, business capture managers, product, marketing, and other cross-functional groups to provide actionable insights and compete better in the market.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Maintain Reports and Dashboards: Develop and manage interactive reports that translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.
Perform Executive Reporting: Generate and distribute bi-weekly profitability snapshots, synthesizing key performance metrics to guide executive leadership decisions.
Drive Audit and Compensation Reporting: Produce comprehensive monthly and quarterly financial reports for internal finance teams and external auditors, ensuring absolute precision for critical figures tied to corporate compensation.
Monitor Daily Data Ingestion: Oversee daily P&L database uploads, performing rigorous data integrity checks and troubleshooting job failures to maintain an accurate, up-to-date single source of truth.
Manage Financial Data Infrastructure: Oversee the central database housing all Profit & Loss data, ensuring high data availability, security, and optimal query performance.
Partner with Business Leaders: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather reporting requirements and build data solutions that drive strategic decision-making.
Drive Innovative Evolution of Analytics and Reporting: Work with leadership to implement improvements and efficiencies to existing reporting and expand capabilities for surfacing deeper insights that drives strategy
Steer Competitive Strategy: Collect, build, manage, and integrate competitive data into analytics that improves competitive strategy and positioning
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, with 3+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or Financial Reporting.
Data Visualization Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Tableau (Desktop and Server/Cloud), with a proven track record of designing interactive, executive-facing dashboards.
AI Literacy and Application: Demonstrated understanding of generative AI capabilities and their application in business contexts, with a commitment to maintaining a 'human-in-the-loop' approach for high-stakes reporting and analytical workflows.
Financial Acumen: Solid understanding of corporate finance principles, specifically interpreting Profit & Loss (P&L) data, profitability metrics, and compensation-tied reporting.
Audit & Compliance Awareness: Experience working alongside finance and audit teams, with a rigorous approach to data governance, accuracy, and maintaining a single source of truth.
Meticulous Attention to Detail: Exceptional precision in validating daily data uploads and generating high-stakes monthly/quarterly reports where accuracy is non-negotiable.
Executive Communication: Strong ability to translate complex database architectures and financial metrics into clear, actionable business insights and present them to senior leadership.
Target Base Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000 USD
Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.

Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, with 3+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or Financial Reporting
