The Opportunity:
This section should outline the primary responsibilities of the position. CACI is seeking a Cloud Services Backend Software Engineer to support our Athena space common operating picture (COP). You will be part of an agile team enabling rapid delivery of capabilities through a secure CI/CD pipeline into production and responsible for defining architecture, suggesting ways to improve the overall performance of the application, deploying Docker containers to AWS using Kubernetes, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Solve challenging and rewarding technical problems, meeting program objectives within the agile development cycle, suggesting ways to improve the architecture and software baseline, and introducing new ways to meet mission needs.
  • Be part of an agile team where communication skills and the ability to execute within the established development process are paramount to your and the team's success.
  • Help maintain the existing architecture and code base.
  • Some CONUS travel (3-4 trips per year, 3-5 days each)


Qualifications:
Required: 

Education: Minimum: HS Diploma or Equivalent

Experience:

  • Active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a polygraph
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated (non-academic) experience in a similar role (day-to-day management as a contractor supporting a government enterprise IT environment)
  • Demonstrated experience defining measurable metrics to monitor progress

Required Skills:

  • Experience working as a member of a software development team participating in the complete development lifecycle
  • Experience with programming and shell scripting with preference for Java and Python
  • Experience with Cloud Management in Amazon Web Services, Azure or equivalent
  • Experience with Container orchestration frameworks such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • DevSecOps pipeline tools (gitlab, SonarQube, Trivy, Ansible, others)
  • Experience working as a member of a development team participating in the complete product development lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and software CM processes / tools (GIT, JIRA, Confluence).
  • Experience applying industry best practices to ensure system performance, reliability, scalability and security.
  • Strong troubleshooting/problem solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Time management and organizational skills, including the ability to work in a dynamic, real-time environment with rapidly changing priorities.  Must be able to multi-task and work independently with minimum supervision to meet deadlines.
  • Familiar with microservice architectures.
  • Familiarity with build tools (e.g. gradle, maven).

Desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, from an accredited institution
  • Active TS/SCI w/ poly
  • Familiarity with Elastic Stack.
  • Experience with networking, Redis, RabbitMQ,  Grafana.
  • Security+ certification

Pay Range:

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$90,300 - 189,600 USD
