Position Overview:

We're looking for a Service Operations Manager to lead the service business within our new Saskatoon branch. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in establishing operational excellence, developing a high-performing team, and supporting future growth in a newly established location.

This position is initially structured as a 12-18 month assignment, with the potential to transition into a permanent role based on business needs and performance.

Job Description:

What You'll Do

As Service Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and performance of the service department, ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable operations while delivering outstanding customer support.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and develop a team of supervisors, technicians, and support staff. Lead and develop future leaders through coaching, mentorship and succession planning.
  • Drive a strong culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Lead through change and help shape the culture of a new and growing operation.
  • Establish operational processes and service standards for a growing branch.
  • Deliver service performance objectives including productivity, efficiency, customer satisfaction, and financial results.
  • Partner with sales, parts, and support teams to provide integrated customer solutions.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and implement action plans to improve results.
  • Support workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, and employee development activities.
  • Manage departmental budgets and resource allocation to achieve business objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships while ensuring service commitments are met.
  • Champion employee engagement and create an environment where people can grow and succeed.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate brings a combination of operational leadership, business acumen, and a passion for developing people.

Qualifications include:

  • Post-secondary education in business, management, engineering, trades, or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience leading service, maintenance, operations, or industrial teams.
  • Demonstrated success managing budgets, workforce planning, and operational performance.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities.
  • Experience driving continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to make sound business decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience within heavy equipment, industrial services, construction, mining, transportation, manufacturing, or a related industry is preferred.
