Position Overview:

Finning is seeking a reliable and safety focused Material Supply Assistant (MSA) to support regional warehousing, inventory, and material handling activities. This role is responsible for parts movement, inventory support, and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) operations across multiple customer and internal locations. The successful candidate will contribute to efficient material flow, safe operations, and high service standards while working within the terms of the applicable collective agreement.

Job Description:

Warehouse & Material Handling

  • Pick, pack, stock, and stage parts accurately, safely, and efficiently
  • Load and unload parts trucks and transport vehicles
  • Support general warehouse duties including housekeeping and material organization

Shipping, Receiving & Deliveries

  • Perform shipping and receiving functions in accordance with procedures
  • Complete scheduled deliveries to Fort Hills and Syncrude locations
  • Ensure accurate documentation and material handling during all deliveries

Inventory and VMI Support

  • Support VMI operations across the region
  • Assist with inventory counts, stock replenishment, and maintaining organized VMI areas

Safety & Compliance

  • Complete a pre-task assessment (PTA) and follow all site and company safety requirements
  • Promote and demonstrate a strong safety-first culture
  • Maintain certifications and comply with WHMIS, TDG, site access and PPE standards

General Duties

  • Operate warehouse equipment as trained (e.g., forklift)
  • Complete assigned tasks from supervision or management in a timely and professional manner
  • Work collaboratively with team members across sites and functions

Qualifications:

  • Completion of Grade 12
  • Ability to work safely, accurately, and efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Team orientated with strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Valid drivers licence with a successful drivers abstract and ability to drive F550 Flat Deck
  • Previous warehouse or material handling experience, forklift certification, computer literacy and experience with RF scanning and bar-coding systems an asset
  • Experience working in an industrial, unionized environment an asset
  • Ability to pass site required screening
  • Must have availability to all sites, no site bans

Important Detail:

  • This field position is on a 14x14 shift rotation based out of our Mildred Lake facility, working across multiple sites as required
  • A condition of employment is the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing)
  • Physical ability to lift, carry and move materials safely
  • Hours and shift schedule may be subject to change to meet customer and/or Finning (Canada) requirements. Please note that any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the Terms & Conditions of the current Collective Agreement
