A Day in the Life

Robotic Surgical Technologies (RST) is transforming minimally invasive surgery through the Hugo™ robotic-assisted surgery platform. Within the RST Customer Success and Field Service organization, this team is responsible for driving customer adoption, clinical utilization, and long-term program success across hospital systems throughout the United States. The function leads strategy and execution to help customers maximize robotic program performance, expand procedure adoption, and achieve sustained value from their investment.

This is a remote role that may be based anywhere in the United States. The position requires travel of 50% or more to support customer sites, team development, business reviews, and cross-functional collaboration.

         

         

The Senior Director, RST US Utilization provides strategic and operational leadership for teams responsible for robotic surgery program adoption, utilization, and customer success. This leader will oversee Robotic Clinical Specialists and Robotic Program Managers while partnering closely with Sales, Marketing, Training, Technical Service, and other cross-functional stakeholders to enhance customer outcomes, grow utilization, and support commercial objectives across the U.S. market.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a national utilization organization focused on customer adoption, program performance, and long-term robotic surgery program success.

  • Develop and execute strategies that drive procedure growth, system utilization, customer retention, and market expansion.

  • Partner with commercial leadership to align robotic surgery programs with broader account growth strategies and business objectives.

  • Conduct executive-level business reviews with hospital leadership, surgeons, and key stakeholders to evaluate performance and identify growth opportunities.

  • Drive adoption of new technologies, clinical applications, digital solutions, and best practices across customer sites.

  • Establish performance expectations, manage resource allocation, and oversee forecasting, budget management, and operational execution.

  • Lead customer escalation management, risk mitigation planning, and resolution of complex business and operational challenges.

  • Recruit, coach, and develop high-performing leaders and field professionals while building a culture of accountability, collaboration, and customer focus.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 15+ years of experience in medical device, healthcare technology, healthcare services, or healthcare industry environments or advanced degree with at least 13 years of experience.

  • 10+ years of people leadership experience managing sales, clinical, customer success, program management, or equivalent customer-facing teams.

  • Ability to travel 50% or more within the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA), master's degree, or advanced clinical degree.

  • Demonstrated experience driving business growth, technology adoption, utilization, or customer outcomes within complex hospital systems.

  • Experience influencing executive leaders, physicians, and other senior healthcare stakeholders.

  • Experience supporting robotic-assisted surgery, surgical technology, or operating room environments.

  • Knowledge of hospital administration, service-line management, and healthcare economics.

  • Experience leading large-scale implementation, adoption, transformation, or change management initiatives.

  • Experience utilizing data analytics, business intelligence, and performance metrics to drive customer and business outcomes.

 

 

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$220,000 - $220,000

 

This position is eligible for an annual long-term incentive plan.

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
 
In addition to Base Salary, this position is eligible for a Sales Incentive Plan (SIP), which provides the opportunity to earn significant incentive compensation for achieving or exceeding your goals.
 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
