The Senior Effectiveness Operations Manager reports to the Director, Market Readiness & Sales Insights and owns the program coordination layer behind the team's enterprise initiatives. This role program-manages the overarching, multi-capability enterprise programs — sequencing, tracking, and reporting logistics that keep complex, cross-team initiatives on schedule and on budget — and runs the cross-functional program coordination for large-scale sales events such as CASS and NADA, partnering closely with the Market Readiness & Sales Insights team, the other ST&E functional teams, and cross-functional partners across the enterprise — and, for large-scale events, coordinating across Events, Content, Production, Comms, and other boundary partners.
The role provides the operational backbone and data support that let the Sales Training & Effectiveness (ST&E) Leaders and functional leads focus on strategy and delivery. It executes against capacity-planning inputs and priorities set above it and surfaces the tracking, status, and reporting that inform planning decisions. This individual supports sales teams across Cox Automotive.
Market Readiness Program Support
- Provides day-to-day project management across the Market Readiness GTM portfolio (e.g., Deal Central, F&I Intelligence, DMS+, AMD Elite, NADA) tracking timelines, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables from kickoff to launch.
- Provides backup coverage across active programs in the portfolio, stepping in when the responsible program owners are at capacity or unavailable.
- Tracks deliverables and milestones to completion and escalates risks, blockers, and constraints to the responsible program owners and the Director.
- Maintains accurate, up-to-date program documentation to protect continuity as programs transition or change ownership.
Program / Project Coordination
- Coordinates execution of active multi-capability enterprise initiatives — including NADA Seller Readiness, SHIFT rollout logistics, SolidRoad adoption tracking, and other enterprise readiness programs.
- Program-manages CASS and other large-scale sales events (e.g., NADA): owns and maintains the project plan, runs the cross-functional planning cadence across Events, Content, Production, Comms, and other boundary partners, tracks content and training-track readiness, and serves as the escalation point for timeline and scope conflicts.
- Contributes to post-event analysis and planning — survey design, feedback synthesis, and post-mortem facilitation, to inform the following year's event cycle.
- Schedules and hosts project/team coordination meetings; tracks progress and surfaces bottlenecks, risks, and cross-functional trade-offs to the Director for resolution and escalation.
- Executes against capacity-planning inputs and timelines set by the Director; flags conflicts and constraints rather than setting cross-functional priorities independently.
- Leads project initiation and post-project review coordination.
Reporting Support
- Compiles and maintains standard and ad hoc reports requested by the Director and functional leads.
- Prepares the data inputs used for enterprise-level effectiveness reporting.
- Generates and manages recurring and custom report requests in support of program tracking.
- Applies AI and automation tools to streamline coordination, tracking, and reporting — reducing manual effort in status reporting, scheduling, and data compilation — and continuously looks for opportunities to work more efficiently as new tools become available.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 8 years experience of program or project management experience, including complex, cross-functional enterprise initiatives with multiple stakeholders and competing timelines. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and 6 years experience; a Ph.D. and 3 years experience in a related field; or 12 years experience of program or project management experience, including complex, cross-functional enterprise initiatives with multiple stakeholders and competing timelines.
- Proven mastery of enterprise project/program management tooling (e.g., project-planning, work-management, and dashboarding platforms such as Smartsheet), with the ability to stand up and maintain a program of record that leadership relies on.
- Advanced data and reporting fluency — able to structure, synthesize, and visualize program and capacity data into decision-ready reporting for senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated use of AI and automation tools to streamline coordination, reporting, and program management work, with a curious, adaptive mindset toward adopting new technology.
- Strong cross-functional coordination skills, including managing handoffs and dependencies across the Market Readiness & Sales Insights team, other ST&E functional teams, and boundary partners.
- Experience program-managing large-scale events or multi-workstream initiatives end to end — planning cadence, readiness tracking, risk and escalation management, and post-event analysis.
- PMP, PgMP, Agile, or similar project/program management certification.
- Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization, including surfacing risks and trade-offs clearly to senior leadership.
- Self-motivated and self-directed, with strong organizational follow-through and the ability to manage shifting priorities with minimal supervision.
