Overview
This is a research assistant I position in the Enact Research Program which works out of 40 Temple Street, Suite 4C, New Haven, CT. This position will be to assist the research program in investigating treatment methods and assessment of obsessive-compulsive disorder, major depressive disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, and other psychiatric conditions in relation to psychedelic research. Essential Duties: Ability to be professional, organized, have good critical thinking skills, good oral written and verbal skills to be able to collect clinical and clinical and neurobiological data through various research methods and procedures such as: computer, behavioral and cognitive assessments, and regulatory documents. Recruits study subjects, obtain informed consent and ensures protocol compliance, subject retention, and appropriate follow up. Ensure that clinical research project goals and objectives are met. May assist in designing, developing, and modifying research design structure. Able to perform study screening, dosing and visit days as indicted by protocol and PI/ manager. Performs additional functions incidental to research activities.

Required Skills and Abilities
1. Ability to work independently, with reliability as well as ability to work closely in a collaborative team. Ability to receive constructive feedback. Capability to work in a fast- paced work environment, multi-task, and exercise flexibility.
2. Interest in and aptitude for working with psychiatric patients, particularly OCD, depression, PTSD and understanding of clinical research protocols. Proven clinical research experience with study protocols, principles, and procedures. Demonstrated ability to recruit subjects and perform psychiatric evaluations such as conducting the MADRS.
3. Experience with the theory and therapeutic techniques of psychedelic facilitation and structure of psychedelic dosing sessions. Applicants should have formal training as a psychedelic facilitator in a research setting.
4. Experience handing biological specimens such as blood and urine within laboratory standards as well as conducting EKGs. Certification in phlebotomy is required. Ability to use and maintain research equipment and space such as source documents, centrifuge, pipettes, EKG machines, cognitive computers, audio and video recording equipment and tools.
5. Ability to collect and enter scientific data ethically and accurately. Proficiency with data analysis. Experience with REDCap, and Zelta. Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Ability to set-up and organize studies, enter data into database, create data reports, graphics, and slides.

Preferred Skills and Abilities

Four years of related work experience and an Associate's degree; one years of related work experience with psychiatric population and a Bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

Principal Responsibilities

1. Researches and collects data through site or home visit intakes; library research; structured interviews; or through other means for designated research assignments. 2. Records and compiles information related to research data. Codes data accordingly to research specifications. Uses a computer terminal to input and retrieve data and to generate reports. 3. Processes and summarizes data using scientific or statistical techniques. Assists in data interpretation and analyses. Reports on status of research activities. 4. Recruits study participants and ensures that subject recruitment and follow-up are completed per protocol procedures. 5. Orders and maintains inventory of supplies. May assist in designing, developing, and modifying research experiments, procedures, or survey instruments. May assist research and support staff. 6. Performs additional functions incidental to research activities. Required Education and Experience Six years of related work experience, four of them in the same job family at the next lower level, and high school level education; or four years of related work experience and an Associate's degree; or little or no work experience and a Bachelor's degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
