Radio Frequency Test Engineer, Mid
The Opportunity:
When a user tries new communication systems, they expect it to be intuitive and run smoothly. Functionality, reliability, and user experience are key to successful system development, and that means rigorous testing. That’s why we need a knowledgeable test engineer like you who knows how to thoroughly test radio and communication systems in laboratory and operational test environments.
As a test engineer on our team, you’ll work with engineers to support the integration, testing, and assessment of radio and communications systems in laboratory and operational test environments. This role is for a hands-on engineer with solid RF experience, sound engineering judgment, and a strong grounding in waveform behavior, signal processing, and radio system performance. The work centers on evaluating communications system performance under complex RF conditions. You will help characterize waveform and data-link behavior, identify performance limits, work with test and measurement hardware and software, and analyze results to support clear technical findings and practical next steps. This role is for someone who is effective at the bench, credible in technical discussions, and comfortable moving between system integration, test execution, and performance analysis. It also fits an engineer who keeps current, can learn new analysis methods and tools without a lot of fanfare, and uses them when they improve the work.
This is an opportunity to leverage your skills by testing radio and communications systems. You’ll also further your experience in systems engineering and hands-on test execution, and explore new areas like satellite communications and enterprise networks.
Work with us as we develop communication solutions to enable our nation's warfighters.
Join us. The world can’t wait.
You Have:
- Experience integrating and testing radio communication systems across hardware and software components
- Experience analyzing RF or communications test results and preparing technical reports or data products
- Experience using RF test and measurement equipment and associated software tools
- Experience assessing communications performance in complex RF environments
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment, supporting work ranging from detailed analysis to routine test and team support
- Knowledge of waveform behavior, RF system performance, and digital signal processing
- Ability to learn new test, measurement, and analysis methods, and apply them to practical engineering work
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to test events
- Top Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Applied Science, or CS
Nice If You Have:
- Experience across multiple RF bands
- Experience with waveform analysis, interference mitigation, or signal processing applications
- Experience using modern engineering analysis tools and workflows
- Experience working across multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Knowledge of radio data links
- Possession of excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field
Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.
