Why This Role
The role is based in the GF Malaysia office in Penang, Malaysia. The GF Malaysia office serves as a key hub providing engineering resources to supplement GF’s global fab operations on a real-time basis. Through the monitoring of key production processes, performance metrics and tool uptime, the GF Malaysia team will be able to provide important round-the-clock support for our global manufacturing operations.
What You Will Do
- Lead global technical training projects and initiatives supporting manufacturing capability and workforce development.
- Drive standardization of technical training processes, curricula, competency frameworks, and qualification methodologies across all fabs.
- Support governance, administration, and continuous improvement of Learning Management Systems (Workday Learning, SumTotal and related platforms).
- Partner with site training teams, engineering organizations, HR, and subject matter experts to develop and deploy effective learning solutions.
- Develop and maintain training dashboards, metrics, and reports to monitor training compliance, qualifications, and organizational capability.
- Lead audit readiness activities related to training records, qualification systems, competency management, and regulatory compliance.
- Identify training gaps through data analysis and collaborate with stakeholders to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Manage training-related projects, including planning, stakeholder engagement, communications, execution tracking, and reporting.
- Support global initiatives focused on digitalization, automation, and modernization of the technical training landscape.
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional and cross-fab continuous improvement projects that enhance training effectiveness, efficiency, and employee capability
- Act as the GFES Technical Training focal point for global training governance, process alignment, and learning system enhancements across sites.
Additional Support
- Coordinate priorities among site training teams and support organizations to ensure execution of global training strategies and objectives.
- Lead an expanded global technical training function supporting competency management, workforce development, audit readiness, LMS administration, and continuous improvement programs.
What You Will Need
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, Business, Education, Technology, or related discipline.
- Training and Development certification is an advantage.
- Project Management certification is an advantage.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing, technical training, learning management systems, workforce development, or project management.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) administration and governance preferred.
- Experience working in global or cross-functional environments preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing training compliance and audit requirements is an advantage.
