Position Summary
The PageWide Web Press Installation & Integration Specialist is responsible for providing advanced technical support and leadership for the installation, upgrade, commissioning, and integration of HP PageWide Web Press systems. Working closely with customers, HP Installation Managers, field service teams, and technical partners, this role ensures successful project execution, operational readiness, and customer satisfaction.
The successful candidate applies extensive technical expertise, sound judgment, and problem-solving skills to independently complete complex assignments and resolve challenging system, mechanical, electrical, and software issues. This position requires the ability to work with minimal supervision, often in environments where established procedures may not exist, while consistently delivering high-quality results that support customer success and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Support & Project Execution
Provide expert technical support for HP PageWide Web Press installations, upgrades, integrations, and startup activities.
Partner with customers, HP Installation Managers, and technical partners to ensure successful project delivery and customer satisfaction.
Assess customer requirements and proactively address operational and technical challenges.
Respond to customer needs promptly and professionally, ensuring issues are resolved effectively and efficiently.
Support account growth and retention through successful execution of installation and integration projects.
Technical Leadership & Troubleshooting
Install, configure, calibrate, troubleshoot, validate, and optimize press equipment and related subsystems.
Perform diagnostics and root-cause analysis on mechanical, electrical, software, and system interface issues.
Execute system testing and validation activities to identify, isolate, and resolve component-level and system-level problems.
Interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, system documentation, and engineering specifications.
Work independently to resolve common system issues and collaborate with subject matter experts to address complex technical challenges.
Monitor operational performance and implement corrective action plans when necessary.
Installation & Commissioning
Install and align equipment, electrical enclosures, panels, guards, mounting hardware, and associated components within established project timelines.
Position machine subsystems accurately according to engineering drawings and connect subsystem wiring and interfaces.
Validate equipment functionality and ensure systems meet operational and performance specifications prior to customer handoff.
Support integration activities involving press hardware, software, and customer production environments.
Coaching & Continuous Improvement
Mentor and coach new technicians on installation processes, technical procedures, and best practices.
Share technical expertise and support knowledge transfer across the organization.
Recommend process improvements and innovative solutions to enhance installation efficiency, quality, and customer experience.
Contribute to a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
Associate Degree, Technical Diploma, Vocational Certification, or equivalent education in a technical discipline with 6+ years of related experience, or
Bachelor's Degree in a related technical field with 4–6 years of relevant experience.
Experience supporting and servicing complex industrial equipment within customer production environments.
Experience with installation, commissioning, and support of HP products or comparable industrial systems.
Technical Knowledge & Skills
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Experience installing and commissioning industrial equipment and associated support systems.
Ability to set up, calibrate, troubleshoot, and validate equipment using schematics, drawings, and technical documentation.
Experience identifying and correcting system issues through testing and diagnostic activities.
Working knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and industrial automation.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
PLC programming, troubleshooting, and controls experience.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to determine root causes and implement effective solutions.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and successfully complete assignments in changing environments.
Proven ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and consistently deliver results.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of electro-mechanical systems, controls, software, and automation technologies.
Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) certification or ability to meet applicable OSHA requirements.
Strong understanding of three-phase electrical systems.
Knowledge of PageWide Web Press paper path systems, press subsystems, and system interactions.
Experience evaluating print quality and implementing adjustments to optimize production output.
Ability to use precision measuring tools, including machine levels, dial indicators, and micrometers.
Experience supporting high-speed digital printing or web press technologies.

Travel: Frequent travel will be required to customer sites to support installation, upgrade, integration, and commissioning activities.
The pay range for this position is $29 to $43 USD per hour (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
