Amentum is seeking a Grounds Laborer to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The Silk Screen Operator / Press Operator is responsible for operating silk screen and press equipment to produce printed materials in accordance with Navy quality standards and production requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Set up screens, prepare inks, align materials, and operate manual or automated presses to produce accurate, high‑quality prints.
  • Monitor press operations, adjust settings as needed, and inspect finished products to ensure color accuracy, registration, and overall print quality.
  • Follow established production schedules, maintain consistent output, and ensure compliance with safety and operational procedures.
  • Clean and maintain screens and press equipment, manage ink and supply inventory, document production output, and maintain a clean and orderly workspace.
  • Support mission‑driven printing and production needs in a remote environment.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.

Required Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in silk screen printing, press operations, or related production environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of screen preparation, ink handling, and press operation
  • Ability to follow production specifications and quality standards
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods and handling materials
  • Must possess a valid passport and be able to travel internationally
  • Passport must be valid for at least one year beyond hire date
  • Ability to obtain country‑specific visa(s) in accordance with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide
  • Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
  • Must read, speak, and comprehend English to the extent that they can perform the contract requirements and comply with installation emergency procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi‑national workforce
  • Experience producing signage, apparel, forms, or printed materials
  • Familiarity with print production workflows and quality control processes
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
  • Valid country driver’s license

Working Environment

This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in office, industrial, warehouse, port, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.

Physical Requirements

 Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment requirements associated with assignment to a remote overseas location.
