Northrop Grumman Defense Systems has an immediate opening for a Senior Manager to lead Business Development Operations and Customer Engagement Coordination. Location in the Mclean, VA Northrop Grumman Defense Systems site.  Considerable travel is required.

Reporting directly to the Director of Strategy and Market Development, for the C2 and Weapons Integration Division, this individual serves as the central lead of team operations and is responsible for establishing and implementing processes to support global capture and business development, coordinates senior customer engagement, assists in development of communications and messaging, as well as serves as a point of contact in cross-functional support.  This individual often serves as the Delegate of Authority for the Director at executive level meetings and reviews.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities Include:

Capture and Business Development Support

  • Support business opportunity pipeline by developing and updating Salesforce dashboards and graphics to communicate the business pipeline’s health
  • Conduct analysis and assessments of business opportunity pipeline and make recommendations for improving capture and win rates
  • Assist in development of presentations and coordination of inputs across the strategy, business development, and capture teams
  • Leads and coordinates contributions to internal reviews such as Corporate, Sector, and Division Monthly Pipeline Reviews, Capture Health and update reviews, priority win reviews
  • Maintain awareness of significant policy, program, budget and legislative initiatives effecting corporate goals

Customer Engagement Planning and Preparations

  • Coordinate, integrate and synchronize division customer engagements in alignment with sector and corporate customer engagement process
  • Prior to customer engagements, ensure senior leaders are prepared with meeting objectives, background, talking points, and logistical details.
  • Assist in planning trade show participation and sponsorship, customer engagements, logistics, and preparation.
  • Ensure division customer engagements are captured in Salesforce with appropriate notes in accordance with NG policy.
  • Support division, sector, and corporate teams in the design, construction and execution of customer analysis plans, strategic customer approach plans, and customer contact plans.

Communications and Messaging

  • Assists in the development of strategic communications and messaging to customers
  • Create presentations to articulate processes and plans for the team
  • Help develop annual team strategic goals and objectives and present to broader team

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of experience related to Department of War (DoW) business or programs; or Master's Degree with 6 years of experience related to Department of War (DoW) business or programs.
  • The ability to analyze a broad range of issues, and a demonstrated ability in strategic thinking to best influence senior DoW civilian and military decision-makers
  • Experience communicating clearly and succinctly salient details of complex subjects to a senior audience
  • Business development, capture, or technical experience
  • Knowledge of DoW acquisition, requirements, and budget policies and processes
  • Strong Salesforce and Tableau skills—specifically with dashboard creation and Salesforce data analysis
  • Active Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in Business Development or government relations related role
  • Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) and/or Command and Control (C2) domain, program, or operational experience
  • 10 years of experience related to Department of War (DoW) programs
  • Knowledgeable in Customer Relationships Management (CRM) tools (e.g. Salesforce)
  • Proven success with leading project teams or people
  • Experience working in a matrix organization or environment
  • Active Top Secret clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $175,400.00 - $263,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
