The CSMF Material, Inventory and Supplier Specialist reports to the Material, Inventory and Logistics Manager and is responsible for delivering advanced supply support services, including inventory management, subcontractor administration, supplier performance management, and data governance across Material Supply Support (MSS) activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage subcontractor activities, including coordination of deliverables, schedules, and performance outcomes.
  • Conduct subcontractor status reviews and maintain visibility of risks, issues, and performance metrics.
  • Support supplier performance management activities, including monitoring, reporting, and improvement initiatives.
  • Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, Commercial and Procurement teams to ensure alignment and delivery outcomes.
  • Support vendor onboarding, due diligence, and supplier capability assessments.
  • Administer subcontract deliverables, including Contractor Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs) and reporting.
  • Support calibration subcontract administration and compliance activities.
  • Contribute to governance processes ensuring adherence to contractual, regulatory, and company requirements.
  • Perform advanced inventory management activities, including analysis, reconciliation, and optimisation across multiple systems.
  • Develop and maintain reporting on inventory performance, supplier performance, and subcontractor status.
  • Analyse trends, risks, and opportunities to improve supply chain performance and data integrity.
  • Contribute to maintenance of supply chain data repositories and management information systems.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex supply chain issues.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and guidance on supply support and inventory management activities.
  • Identify and implement improvements to processes, systems, and reporting.
  • Travel may be required within Australia to fulfil the requirements of this role.
  • Other duties as deemed relevant to program and operational requirements.
     

Skills, Experience and Qualifications 

  • A University Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum 8–12 years of relevant supply chain or logistics experience.
  • Demonstrated experience is required in: 
  • Experience in inventory management and supplier or subcontractor management.
  • Experience with ERP systems and data analysis tools.
  • Practical knowledge of Defence or complex supply chain environments.
  • Exposure to inventory optimisation and warehousing environments.
