Amentum is seeking a Material Expeditor to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The Material Expeditor is responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of materials, tools, and supplies required for operational support. This role involves coordinating with procurement, warehousing, and project teams to ensure all materials and equipment are available to meet project deadlines. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating and expediting the flow of materials, tools, and supplies within or between departments.
  • Tracking shipments and deliveries to ensure all necessary supplies are received on schedule.
  • Verifying material requests and ensuring accuracy and alignment with operational requirements.
  • Communicating effectively with suppliers, vendors, and team members to address delays or material shortages.
  • Maintaining and updating inventory records and procurement systems to reflect current material status.
  • Inspecting shipments to verify the condition and accuracy of received goods, ensuring compliance with order specifications.
  • Identifying and reporting damaged or defective materials to supervisors and ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Working closely with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure proper handling and storage of materials.
  • Preparing reports and documentation on material usage, delivery timelines, and inventory levels.
  • Monitoring and improving material expediting processes to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to contractual requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance with organizational, safety, and environmental standards for materials handling and distribution.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.

Required Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of experience in material handling, expediting, or supply chain operations.
  • Familiarity with logistics and supply chain principles, including procurement, inventory management, and warehousing.
  • Ability to track, manage, and report on the status of materials and supplies in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using inventory tracking software, databases, or ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple departments and vendors.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Must be in possession of a valid passport and able to travel internationally.
  • Passport should be valid for a minimum of one (1) year at the time of hire.
  • Ability to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
  • Ability to successfully meet contract medical requirements and maintain physical readiness for the duration of deployment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications or advanced training in logistics, supply chain management, or material expediting.
  • Previous experience in a government or military supply chain or logistics operation.
  • Familiarity with policies and operational procedures related to material management and military or government-contracting environments.
  • Prior experience working in remote OCONUS (Outside Continental United States) or austere environments.
  • Experience with hazardous material (HAZMAT) handling and associated safety regulations.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
