What You Will Do

  • Manage a team of structural engineers, including resource allocation, task assignment, and performance oversight and performance planning reviews.

  • Develop technical plans and manpower strategies aligned with program requirements, priorities, and milestones.

  • Provide structural guidance for product development, improvements, engineering changes, production issues, and investigations.

  • Review and approve structural analyses and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Collaborate with structures discipline managers to maintain alignment and support continuous improvement and AS9100/CORE initiatives.

  • Lead employee development through coaching, technical skill building, individual development plans, and policy adherence.

  • English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English.

  • Travel is up to 10%.

Qualifications You Must Have      

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering

  • 8 years of engineering experience or an Advanced Degree with 5 years of engineering experience.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

  • Problem solving skills using FEM for stress/deflection, vibration, and performing LCF, HCF, Fracture Mechanics or Kinematics analyses. 

  • Experience with ANSYS, Workbench, CAD and FEA.

  • Experience leading teams in the successful execution of tasks to meet technical requirements.

  • Capability to work and lead in collaboration with teams located across all GEC.

  • Communication, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop staff.

  • Analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Focus on results and the ability to drive tasks to completion.

  • Compression Systems Engineering is responsible for the design, development, and in service support of all fans low-pressure and high-pressure compressors for commercial and military engine models. CSE is responsible for the identification and maturation of new technologies for these products.
