JIATF 401 System Engineer
The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a Systems Engineer to support Joint Interagency Task Force 401 (JIATF 401). The Systems Engineer will provide technical leadership in the design, integration, analysis, testing, and evaluation of Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) capabilities. This position requires expertise in systems engineering, architecture development, systems integration, requirements management, and operational analysis to ensure the successful development, acquisition, fielding, and sustainment of complex C-UAS systems. The Systems Engineer will leverage Maven Smart System (MSS), Palantir, Power BI, Python, AI-enabled analytical tools, and digital engineering methodologies to evaluate system performance, assess interoperability, manage technical risks, and deliver integrated mission capabilities supporting senior military and civilian leadership.
Responsibilities:
· Apply systems engineering principles throughout the lifecycle of C-UAS capabilities, including requirements development, architecture design, integration, testing, fielding, and sustainment.
· Utilize Maven Smart System (MSS), Palantir, Power BI, Python, and AI-enabled analytical tools to support technical analysis, systems integration, operational assessments, and decision-making.
· Develop and manage system architectures, interface requirements, functional decompositions, and technical baselines supporting integrated C-UAS capabilities.
· Analyze system performance, interoperability, reliability, maintainability, scalability, and operational effectiveness across sensors, effectors, command and control systems, communications networks, and supporting infrastructure.
· Develop and maintain systems engineering documentation including requirements traceability matrices, interface control documents (ICDs), system specifications, architecture diagrams, technical risk assessments, and verification plans.
· Support operational assessments, technology demonstrations, developmental testing, operational testing, experimentation events, and capability evaluations.
· Collaborate with engineers, software developers, cyber specialists, network engineers, data scientists, acquisition personnel, operators, and mission stakeholders to integrate complex technical systems into operational capabilities.
· Conduct technical trade studies, engineering analyses, technology assessments, and capability gap analyses supporting acquisition strategies and modernization efforts.
· Evaluate emerging technologies, AI-enabled capabilities, autonomous systems, sensor fusion solutions, and advanced C-UAS architectures for operational applicability.
· Develop dashboards, technical reports, engineering analyses, executive briefings, and decision-support products communicating complex technical information to senior military and civilian leadership.
· Leverage artificial intelligence and automation technologies to improve systems engineering processes, technical analysis, and operational decision support.
· Identify technical risks, integration challenges, interoperability issues, and engineering solutions throughout system development and deployment.
· Ensure engineering activities comply with applicable systems engineering standards, cybersecurity requirements, configuration management policies, and data governance practices.
· Maintain awareness of emerging C-UAS technologies, systems engineering methodologies, digital engineering practices, and evolving operational requirements to continuously improve mission capabilities.
Qualifications:
Required:
· Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance.
· BA/BS with 4+ years; AA/AS with 8+ years; or HS/GED with 10+ years.
· Demonstrated experience applying systems engineering principles to the design, integration, testing, or sustainment of complex technical systems.
· Experience utilizing Maven Smart System (MSS), Palantir, or similar enterprise data integration and analytics platforms.
· Experience developing dashboards, reports, and technical visualizations using Power BI or similar business intelligence platforms.
· Working knowledge of Python for automation, data analysis, scripting, or engineering support activities.
· Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools, machine learning applications, or advanced analytics platforms to support engineering analysis and operational decision-making.
· Knowledge of systems architecture, systems integration, interface management, requirements development, verification and validation (V&V), and configuration management.
· Experience developing engineering documentation, technical specifications, interface control documents (ICDs), system architectures, and technical assessments.
· Experience supporting system integration, interoperability analysis, technology evaluations, or operational testing.
· Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including the ability to develop technical documentation, engineering reports, executive briefings, and presentation materials.
· Ability to communicate complex engineering concepts and technical recommendations to senior military and civilian leadership.
· Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering, operational, cyber, acquisition, and analytical teams in dynamic mission environments.
Desired:
· Experience supporting Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, Homeland Security, or Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) organizations.
· Familiarity with systems engineering frameworks such as INCOSE, ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and Digital Engineering practices.
· Experience supporting developmental test and evaluation (DT&E), operational test and evaluation (OT&E), technology demonstrations, or capability development initiatives.
· Knowledge of C-UAS sensors, radars, RF systems, electro-optical/infrared systems, electronic warfare systems, command and control architectures, communications networks, and kinetic/non-kinetic defeat capabilities.
· Experience supporting CJADC2, data fusion, common operating picture development, mission command systems, or enterprise systems integration.
· Familiarity with cloud-based architectures, software-defined networking, digital engineering environments, AI-enabled systems, autonomous systems, and enterprise data governance.

Pay Range:
There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$94,400 - $198,200
