The Planning Optimization and OSS Manager is part of the Power and Controls aftermarket. This Manager is an experienced professional with highly developed technical expertise who leads in the On Sight Support (OSS) group and is responsible for developing significant improvements of processes, systems, and products to enhance performance and optimize inventory/assets for the P&C aftermarket.

What You Will Do

  • Leads and develops the OSS planning team.  Mentors team members to support their career aspirations and leadership succession planning

  • Leads the development of optimization strategies and tools for inventory management and materials optimization

  • Spearheads the development/innovation of tools and standardized processes materials planning to optimize the utilization of business resources and meet customer expectations for delivery

  • Coordinates the innovation and management of forecasting methods for materials planning.  This includes gathering information from SAP, Servigisitics, and SIOP, developing causal models, and consolidating them into an aggregated plan

  • Leads in the development of indicators that enable visibility to short and long-term market trends and demand

  • Collaborates with OSS customers, product development leaders and sales and marketing team leaders to develop demand forecasts

  • Responsible for inventory control ensuring stock levels are maintained at an appropriate level and meet site NITO targets

  • Provides inventory control oversite of OSS products held at the customer including onsite audits

  • Analyzes and leads in the development of new technologies to improve materials planning

  • Spearheads tracking of appropriate metrics to drive results and continuous improvement

  • Guides in establishing clear and robust metrics to measure progress through process improvements for OSS and supports the same for asset management and materials planning

  • Executes  continuous management of the demand management processes, including adherence to all required validations using the best information available, to provide long range aftermarket demand visibility in support of financial planning, internal and external capacity management, and the overall SIOP process

  • Mitigates risks for long term shortages with suppliers to ensure successful customer delivery

  • Presents monthly demand, supply, and executive review materials to engage leadership in strategic decisions around material planning

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience

  • Previous Supply Chain or Material Planning experience or within a related field

  • Previous Customer-facing experience required

  • Experience using Microsoft Products (Excel) and ERP systems (SAP)

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with Consignment Inventory

  • APICS Certifications (e.g. CPIM) preferred

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
