Northrop Grumman, Integrated Mission Solution (IMS), has an opening for a Manager Distribution 2 to join our team of highly qualified and diverse individuals. This position will be in Warner Robins, GA. The Material Operations team within the Global Supply Chain department has a need for Manager Distribution 2, leading a team of individual contributors.

Functional responsibilities include:

  • Staff support all IMS programs
  • Conducting periodic performance evaluations, including quarter connection, one-on-one, and annual reviews
  • Providing technical leadership and guidance to the staff
  • Professional development and mentoring of direct reports
  • Supporting Functional Homeroom initiatives and projects which include process improvement, Event Response Teams, Corrective, and Preventive Action implementation

Process Improvement and Resource Allocation:

  • Train and implement utilization of our digital ERP system, S4 Hana through Warner Robins Distribution Center
  • Implement targeted KPI’s and define red/yellow/green return-to-standard criteria
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes
  • Evaluate and recommend process enhancements to increase productivity and reduce waste
  • Lead cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and improve efficiency
  • Lead weekly cycle counts throughout the Organization Unit
  • Manage warehouse spaces
  • Drive appropriate warehouse control plan strategy to support both near-term and long-terms demands
  • Determine the necessary warehouse space required for program support needs
  • Allocate resources effectively to meet production targets while minimizing costs
  • Monitor resource usage and adjust allocations as needed to address changing priorities

Team Leadership Logistics Management:

  • Supervise and mentor inventory stockroom staff, shipping staff, receiving staff, and warehouse storage space at Warner Robins Distribution Center, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that encourages teamwork and innovation.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Oversee the transportation and storage of raw materials, WIP and finished goods
  • Ensure materials are handled, stored, and transported in compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Optimize logistics processes to reduce costs, improve delivery communications, and improve delivery coordination to correct warehouse

Supply Chain Coordination and Cycle Time:

  • Work within a cross-functional engagement with Material Planning, and Procurement to drive material alignment in support of the Master Plan Schedule (MPS)
  • Collaborate with the Planning and Procurement organizations to address and resolve any supply chain disruptions that could impact production
  • Ensure seamless communication and coordination between Quality, Manufacturing, and Integration along with Global Supply Chain functional teams
  • Monitor metrics on inventory control process.
  • Objective: Identify warehouse organizational issues with materials
  • Maintain a 95% or better weekly cycle count goal

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years of experience in production control & scheduling, material planning, inventory Control, warehouse organization, logistics or related field within a manufacturing or supply chain; Masters Degree with 6 years of experience in production control & scheduling, material planning, inventory Control, warehouse organization, logistics or related field within a manufacturing or supply chain;  OR 12 years of experience in production control & scheduling, material planning, inventory Control, warehouse organization, logistics or related field within a manufacturing or supply chain will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Subject matter expert (SME) in SAP/S4 Hana
  • Proven leadership experience on a project and/or team
  • Experience in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
  • Ability to obtain security clearance
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time, domestic only

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Work Experience in Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • Experience with Integration & Test, defense, aerospace or high-reliability product development industries.
  • Knowledge of warehouse inventory management baseline and scope definition
  • Strong Background with SAP 4/HANA
  • Experience with MS Access and MS Project.
  • Expert in Excel Spreadsheets

Primary Level Salary Range: $104,600.00 - $156,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
