Logistics Manager I

As a Logistics Manager I, you will be responsible for overseeing the execution and management of contract-related logistics efforts. This includes managing all logistics and depot support issues for various programs, interfacing with customers to support their requests, and ensuring the cost-effective and timely execution of contracts. You will also be responsible for developing and executing customer training programs and materials.

The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute contract-related logistics efforts.
  • Oversee logistics and depot support issues for assigned programs.
  • Interface with customers to address and support their logistics requirements.
  • Develop and execute customer training programs and materials.
  • Manage resources to ensure the cost-effective and timely execution of contracts.
  • Maintain overall responsibility for the logistics support function.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Track and report logistics performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize logistics processes.
  • Identify and mitigate logistics-related risks.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field of study.
  • 7+ years of logistics management experience.
  • Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 11 years of related experience is required.
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
  • Proficiency in logistics management software and tools.
  • Understanding of International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) regulations as they apply to the import and export of goods.
  • Relevant experience working with logistics/warehouse environment and warehouse management systems.
  • Experience with the practical application of Supply Chain/Logistics principles and techniques.
  • Ability to travel extensively, often overseas.
  • Prior experience with handling and managing hazardous/dangerous goods and materials.
  • Previous management experience; the ability to recruit employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Master’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration.
  • Certification in logistics or supply chain management [e.g., APICS, Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP)].
  • Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Familiarity with operating military units, airborne signals intelligence (SIGINT) systems and aircraft sensor equipment.
  • Understanding of third party shipping vendors and requirements.
  • Current Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and clean driving record.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
  • Requirement to be on your feet for parts of the work shift.
  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity for handling logistics equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced office or hybrid environment.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
