Finning Canada is seeking a Journeyperson Helper / Labourer to support our industry leading team in Yellowknife, NT on a 5x2 Shift Schedule. You will be responsible for a variety of limited skilled duties in a service-oriented environment.

Job Description:

• General clean up of shop, yard and machines
• Minor repairs and assisting Journeyperson Mechanics as required
• Aid Mechanics with the removal and installation of guards and steaming
• Fueling machines
• Minor service of machines (oil changes etc.)
• Attachment maintenance
• General service shop duties

Skills and Qualifications:

• Completion of Grade 12
• Completion of a pre-apprenticeship program is an asset
• Mechanically inclined, self-starter ability to follow directions, work well within a team environment and contribute positively to a team
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work successfully under minimal supervision
• Past experience in a maintenance shop environment, mechanical experience, and Forklift certification would be considered assets

Important Information:

• This position is located at our Yellowknife branch on a 5x2 shift schedule.  
• Hours and shift schedule may be subject to change to meet customer and/or Finning (Canada) requirements. Please note that any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the Terms & Conditions of the current Collective Agreement
