Joint Exercise Planner/Integrator
The Opportunity:
As a Joint Exercise Planner/Integrator supporting the SCOPES Program, you will support USSOUTHCOM's Training and Exercise Division by planning, integrating, and executing joint and multinational exercises that enhance Combatant Command readiness across the Western Hemisphere. Working alongside military, civilian, and multinational partners, you will synchronize planning activities throughout the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC), helping deliver realistic, mission-focused training that advances USSOUTHCOM's Campaign Plan and U.S. national security objectives.
Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and execute joint and multinational exercises throughout the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC) in support of Combatant Command training objectives.
Collaborate with USSOUTHCOM Headquarters, Service Components, Joint Task Forces, interagency organizations, and multinational partners to synchronize exercise planning and execution.
Develop exercise objectives, planning products, training audiences, assessment methodologies, and supporting documentation that enable realistic operational training.
Coordinate exercise scenarios, Master Scenario Event List (MSEL) activities, force requirements, deployment data, and exercise control activities to ensure successful execution.
Maintain Joint planning systems and databases, including JTIMS, JOPES, DRRS, and related tools, ensuring the accuracy of planning, reporting, and readiness information.
Support the development of After Action Reports (AARs), capture lessons learned, and recommend improvements that strengthen future exercises and operational readiness.
Assist with long-range exercise planning, resource synchronization, and budget planning to support USSOUTHCOM's training and exercise program.
Qualifications:
Required:
Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
Experience supporting Combatant Command, Joint Staff, Service Component, or Joint Task Force planning, operations, or exercise programs.
Working knowledge of the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC), Joint Planning processes, JOPES, JTIMS, DRRS, and Joint training doctrine.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare reports, planning products, and briefings.
Ability to collaborate across diverse organizations in a fast-paced operational environment.
Desired:
Joint Professional Military Education (JPME I or II), advanced military planning education, or comparable professional military experience.
Experience supporting multinational or coalition exercises within a Geographic Combatant Command.
Experience supporting exercise planning, readiness reporting, or resource management activities.
