Amentum is seeking an Inventory Management Specialist to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The Inventory Management Specialist is responsible for maintaining, tracking, and documenting inventory operations in compliance with Navy policies, procedures, and approved practices. This role ensures the integrity and accuracy of inventory records; controls access to supply operations and prevents unauthorized use. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Job Responsibilities:
- Inventory Accuracy and Documentation:
- Performing inventory management services in accordance with Chapter 6 of NAVSUP P-485 Volume III, NAVSUP P-723, Navy Inventory Integrity Procedures, and NAVSUP FLC Yokosuka Inventory Accuracy Program.
- Accurately maintaining, documenting, and tracking inventory records in the appropriate Government systems.
- Managing inventory transactions, including issues and receipts, while ensuring accurate tracking and documentation of each transaction.
- Inventory Integrity and Tracking:
- Ensuring that all inventory items are recorded accurately, both in physical counts and in electronic or manual systems.
- Monitoring and reconciling differences in inventory records to ensure accuracy and compliance with Navy standards.
- Supply Operations and Security:
- Supervising and controlling access to supply operations, including warehouses, to prevent unauthorized entry or misuse.
- Ensuring strict adherence to Government-approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for safeguarding materials and facilities.
- Audits and Reporting:
- Supporting periodic inventory audits to ensure the accuracy and accountability of all inventory records.
- Preparing and submitting detailed reports on inventory activities, discrepancies, and corrections per Government protocols.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent. A degree or certification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is an advantage.
- 2-4 years of experience in inventory management, supply chain operations, or related logistics roles.
- Knowledge of Navy procedures and guidelines, including NAVSUP P-485, NAVSUP P-723, and inventory integrity standards.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and track inventory transactions effectively.
- Proficiency in using inventory systems and databases, including government software or platforms.
- Ability to enforce secure access controls at supply operations to prevent unauthorized entry or activity.
- Effective communication skills for preparing reports, coordinating audits, and collaborating with stakeholders.
- Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
- Passport should be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
- Ability to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
- Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance for the duration of deployment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in an austere OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) environment with a multi-national workforce.
- Familiarity with Navy-related logistics systems and procedures, including NAVSUP and FLC Yokosuka programs.
- Strong knowledge and experience in reconciling inventory records and conducting inventory audits.
- Valid country driver’s license.
- Experience working with Government or military inventory systems.
