Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration offers an excellent opportunity for an Internal Only: Information Systems Project Management – Project Engr (26-347) to join our team of skilled and diverse professionals. Based in Colorado Springs, CO, this role is essential to supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at the strategic, regional, and operational levels.

NOTE: This position is only available to current and active C2BMC personnel

This position does not provide relocation assistance and requires on-site work with no remote options.

Position Overview:

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a key component of the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to plan ballistic missile defense operations systematically, collectively monitor the battle, and dynamically control networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission goals. C2BMC supports layered missile defense capabilities that enable an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It serves as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations, both globally and regionally, to improve performance. C2BMC is essential for all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the current and future capabilities of missile defense systems.

The Project Engineer will collaborate with I&T Leadership to manage, coordinate, and oversee the cross Agile Release Train. This role involves supporting the planning and execution of technical scope, schedule, and cost inputs for changes, ECPs, and other customer engineering estimate requests. Additionally, the individual will assist with cross-spiral deconfliction, coordinate across different functions, and help resolve schedule and resource issues.

Essential Functions:

  • Facilitating execution of our integration schedule

  • Conducts weekly and monthly analyses of testing metrics

  • Provide summary-level information and conclusions from this analysis to their assigned ART (key drivers, anomalies, concerns, etc.), including elevating concerns to other impacted CAMs

  • Perform trend analysis of metrics and identify KPIs for Leadership

  • Work to resolve any anomalies and metrics in month-end data for assigned projects

  • Create and support baseline change requests aligned with the business rhythm

  • Support the I&T ART leadership team with thorough variance analysis and any corrective actions directed by Leadership

  • Help with support engineering estimates or proposals for engineering changes

  • Support work planning and baseline activities through the AGILE iteration planning cycles and continuous planning efforts

Basic Qualifications:

 

Please list your current security clearance and IAT or relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.

 

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from an accredited university, along with 2 years of experience; or a Master’s degree in a related field with 0 years of relevant work experience; or 6 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree

  • Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start

  • Proven experience with schedule creation and management, rolling waves, metric analysis methods, and Agile Software Development

  • Extensive experience in project management, program oversight, and technical leadership

  • Proven skills that emphasize taking responsibility, attention to detail, and meeting deadlines are essential

  • Experience or familiarity with software development and Agile Methodologies

  • Strong problem-solving, root cause, corrective action, and closure skills

  • Ability to lead discussions and determine solutions to problems

  • Experience with metric-driven analysis reports, software integration testing, and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

  • Recent experience with Agile Software Development and with test schedule coordination and execution

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Desire to enhance project management skills, including communication, the ability to handle unforeseen challenges, and building strong relationships

Primary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
