The Opportunity
The Global Medical Education Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of physician and field education programs that support the safe and effective use of Abbott Structural Heart therapies and products. This role partners with Medical Affairs, Clinical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, R&D, Marketing, and Commercial teams to identify training needs, develop educational solutions, and ensure physician and field readiness throughout the product lifecycle. The Manager translates clinical, technical, and procedural information into effective learning experiences that drive competency, clinical excellence, and positive patient outcomes while ensuring compliance with Abbott policies and regulatory requirements.
What You’ll Work On
Training Strategy & Curriculum Development
- Design and develop medical education curricula, including training plans, educational materials, and resources supporting Structural Heart products and therapies.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to assess learning needs, define instructional objectives, establish authorization requirements, and develop learning pathways for physicians and field personnel.
- Develop instructor-led, virtual, simulation-based, and digital learning solutions using adult learning and instructional design best practices.
- Create educational content and performance support tools, including presentations, procedural guides, eLearning modules, videos, and competency assessments.
Physician & Field Education
- Design and develop medical educational programs that support the safe and effective use of Structural Heart therapies.
- Partner with physician faculty, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and internal stakeholders to develop evidence-based training programs and materials.
- Collaborate with Medical Education franchise leaders to identify performance gaps and implement targeted training solutions that support onboarding, authorization, and ongoing competency development.
Product Development & Launch Readiness
- Represent Medical Education on cross-functional product development teams, ensuring training requirements are incorporated throughout the product lifecycle.
- Assess training implications of new products, indications, and procedural enhancements and develop launch readiness plans and training deliverables.
- Ensure training content accurately reflects approved product labeling, clinical evidence, and procedural best practices.
Tendyne Program Execution & Operations
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of physician and field training programs.
- Facilitate training programs and workshops as needed and maintain training records in accordance with company requirements.
Evaluation, Quality & Compliance
- Develop and implement assessment strategies to evaluate learner competency, training effectiveness, and program outcomes.
- Analyze training metrics and stakeholder feedback to drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure training programs and materials comply with Abbott policies, quality system requirements, regulatory standards, and approved product labeling.
- Support content review, approval, documentation control, and audit readiness activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Medical Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in medical education, clinical training, healthcare education, medical affairs, clinical support, or a related medical device or healthcare role.
- Experience developing and delivering training programs for healthcare professionals and/or field-based personnel.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and training effectiveness measurement.
- Strong project management, organizational, and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to build partnerships, influence without authority, and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and physician stakeholders.
- Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to analyze training needs and translate clinical, business, and customer requirements into effective educational solutions.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Education, Instructional Design, Nursing, Clinical Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in cardiovascular, structural heart, or other interventional medical device therapies.
- Experience supporting physician education, therapy adoption, field authorization, or proctoring programs.
- Experience working in a regulated medical device environment.

The base pay for this position is
$99,300.00 – $198,700.00In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
