Global End User Sales, Senior Legal Counsel

The Global End User Sales Senior Legal Counsel will primarily support tactical and strategic initiatives regarding end-user sales transactions from a global perspective, as well as take on projects as necessary.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a talented and experienced attorney with experience in end user sales. The successful candidate will be able to expand their skills working with a highly experienced and talented team. The position is an individual contributor role.
In this role you will:
- Provide legal expertise in support of the entire HP Inc. portfolio for end-user customers, specifically Hardware (PC and Print), Software, Support and Managed Services.
- Act as lead and support attorney for the overall legal strategy and assessment of risk on large, complex deals, including Managed Services.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the business teams on legal issues and legal impact of business issues.
- Provide executive-level support.
- Administer a working group, including leading virtual team calls; updating templates, tools and trainings; optimizing use of AI; leading implementations of strategic initiatives.
- Draft and negotiate legal contract terms; identify business issues for business team support.
- Identify and resolve complex legal issues requiring in-depth consideration of multiple factors.
- Lead or assist with the resolution of contract disputes with existing customers.
- Plan and provide training to colleagues and internal clients on designated legal topics.
- Routinely exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and criteria for achieving objectives.
- Contribute to the development of innovative principles and ideas.
- Support Legal’s commitment to continuous improvement by identifying and leading solutions with Legal and internal clients to improve quality.
The successful candidate will have:
- A Juris Doctor from a nationally recognized law school plus an active bar membership from any of the fifty states or the District of Columbia, or an advanced university degree in law (e.g. JD or LLB) and meets local legal license requirements.
- 5+ years of relevant legal experience (from a combination of law firm, government, and/or in-house experience) in the area of public sector contracting.
- Experience supporting deals with customers (preferred).
- Advanced understanding of the multiple international legal environments (preferred). Experience representing a major IT company on contracts matters (a plus).
- Prior negotiation experience in complex transactions, experience drafting templates, and knowledge and use of a playbook.
- Subject-matter expertise on key legal topics including liability, indemnities, intellectual property and privacy/data protection.
- Knowledge of industry norms and of the legal and business issues unique to IT products and services.
- English language skills to business standard required.
- Practical, independent judgment, initiative, and self-confidence.
- The willingness and ability to solve challenges; ability to work with minimal direction and supervision; proactive, not reactive; and be able to thrive in change.
- The ability to have proactive and effective communications of valuable information to clients and colleagues.

The pay range for this role is $186,150 to $292,250 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
