A Day in the Life
The Expeditor II is responsible for coordinating and accelerating the flow of materials, parts, and information to support production, operations, or supply chain activities. This role helps ensure orders, shipments, and inventory move on time by working closely with suppliers, planners, buyers, manufacturing teams, and logistics partners. The Expeditor II monitors schedules, resolves delays, tracks shortages, and supports timely delivery to meet business and customer requirements.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Expedites, routes, and dispatches material and parts in accordance with production schedules and commitments.
- Reviews master production schedule to determine possible and actual shortages and alerts proper authorities of potential problems.
- Generates progress reports on schedule status and keeps records of completed orders.
- Takes appropriate action to expedite materials such as order damaged material repaired or in-house material transportation.
- Reports on completion dates, material changes or substitutions, shortages, and schedule modifications.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements:
Requires basic knowledge of manufacturing or supply chain operational procedures, systems, and tools gained through experience and/or relevant training, education, or certifications.
Requires 1+ years of related experience, which may include a combination of practical experience and applicable training, education, or certification.
No minimum education requirement.
Nice to Have:
- ERP/MRP system experience
- Advanced Excel skills
- Supply chain or manufacturing experience
- Supplier coordination and order follow-up experience
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Experience in a regulated industry environment
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
