Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector is seeking an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Manager 2 to join our team of qualified individuals within our Flight Operations organization. This position will be located at Ellsworth AFB, SD with initial onboarding and training located at another CONUS location prior to location assignment.

In this role, you will be responsible for…
Key Responsibilities:
- Leads the daily operations of the aircraft team to include leading, managing, motivating, developing, and engaging a team of aircraft mechanics and technicians in a dynamic environment
- Oversees maintenance servicing, repairing and overhauling aircraft and aircraft engines to ensure that aircraft are in good mechanical condition and safe for flight
- Ensures customer maintenance requirements are met
- Schedules maintenance and inspections
- Releases aircraft for flight
- Recommends procedure changes to improve maintainability of aircraft and timely inspections
- Consults manufacturers manuals for specifications and determines feasibility of repair or replacement
- Conducts briefings and participates in technical meetings for internal and external representatives concerning specific operations
- Coordinates with customer and support agencies on all constraints and risks affecting critical path milestones
- Develops, tracks, updates, and reports status of product/requirements for contracted work to program leadership
- Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies problems, and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources
- Collaborates with local customers on routine and max level effort maintenance events and schedule changes to support aircraft maintenance operations
- Participates in maintenance meetings with the customer and provides maintenance status briefings at the customer’s request
- Works with functional and program leadership to ensure proper staffing and performance goals

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of military or civilian aircraft maintenance experience; or a Master’s degree with 3 years of military or civilian aircraft maintenance experience; OR a High school diploma/GED with 9 years of military or civilian aircraft maintenance experience
- 2 years of leadership experience
- Must demonstrate strong interpersonal and organizational skills as well as oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time
- Must be able to travel to various locations for initial training for a minimum of 24 weeks prior to relocating to the permanent location
- Must be able and willing to work on an aircraft flightline year round
- Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include alternate/second shifts, extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, 365 days a year
- Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active US Government Top Secret clearance
- USAF or equivalent Aircraft Maintenance Flightline Expeditor or Production Superintendent experience
- Knowledge of USAF or equivalent aircraft maintenance processes and procedures
- Prior management experience

Primary Level Salary Range: $109,000.00 - $163,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
