We are looking for you to join our team as an Engineering Technician 4 based out of Waynesboro, Virginia.
We are seeking an Engineering Technician to support the development, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of advanced industrial automation systems, Factory Test equipment systems, and other manufacturing equipment at our Central Virginia manufacturing facilities.
What You'll Get to Do:
As a hands-on Engineering Technician you will troubleshoot equipment and perform preventive maintenance tasks while developing process improvements, engaging in digital tools to streamline operations and manufacturing sequences. You will collaborate with peers, assemblers, and technicians to ensure equipment readiness and availability. Knowledge of equipment functionality and capability are paramount as you support metric driven decisions on maintenance, throughput, and capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the development and implementation of the site CMMS.
Perform and improve equipment maintenance PM’s.
Develop and implement shop floor digital solutions for PM and Operations.
Collaborate with OEM’s when troubleshooting and developing failure mode corrective actions.
Develop digital work instructions for manufacturing and maintenance tasks.
Support specifying, identifying, and procuring new manufacturing equipment for production readiness and preparing equipment for production with a focus on the machine integration and data collection.

This job requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance plus program clearance. A current clearance is not required to apply to and interview for this job. If you do accept an offer for this position we will start the clearance process immediately, and your start date will be confirmed once you are granted an Interim Secret clearance. The average time to obtain an Interim Secret clearance is about 30 days.
Travel will be primarily to our Charlottesville facility to support that location as well.
Basic Qualifications for the Engineering Technician 4:
High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years of additional education and/or experience
Experience in a manufacturing or production environment
Experience with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting; e.g., pumps, coolant systems, mechanical drives, alignments etc.
Fluency in MS Office software applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc.)
Ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret level security clearance plus program clearance
Interim Secret clearance is required to start.
US Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications for the Engineering Technician 4:
Degree in electrical, mechanical, maintenance, or automation engineering
Experience in automation systems and experience in production environments
Hydraulic and HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting
CAD modeling
Experience with inventory and logistics
Experience with PLCs and automation solutions
Six Sigma certification and proficiency in applied statistics
Demonstrated experience using artificial intelligence to accelerate effective process development
Current Secret clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $68,300.00 - $113,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
