What You Will Do
Define, document, and deploy software engineering execution processes, workflows, and guidance artifacts that ensure technical rigor, traceability, and alignment with engineering lifecycle requirements.
Develop and maintain software release compliance artifacts—including Software Development Plans (SDPs), Command Media–aligned process enablers, and engineering execution controls—to ensure releases meet required technical and procedural standards.
Analyze software engineering performance data using quantitative methods to identify systemic issues, execution bottlenecks, risk indicators, performance gaps, and optimization opportunities; translate findings into technically actionable recommendations for engineering leadership.
Support the design, implementation, and sustainment of manual, tool-enabled, and automated data collection solutions that improve metric accuracy, data repeatability, engineering observability, and statistical validity across programs.
Architect engineering performance dashboards, scorecards, analytics pipelines, and leadership reporting products that transform raw engineering data into high-fidelity technical insight for decision-making and continuous improvement.
Facilitate technical working sessions with engineering teams, process owners, and stakeholders to establish precise metric definitions, operational thresholds, calculation methods, data governance rules, and standardized reporting expectations.
Support engineering process and metric governance by ensuring operational definitions are technically sound, auditable, and scalable; contribute to process change control, configuration management, and cross-program engineering process alignment.
Perform all responsibilities onsite to enable direct technical engagement, collaboration, and hands-on interaction with engineering and program teams.
What You Will Learn
Accelerate your understanding of end-to-end engineering lifecycle execution — and see firsthand how disciplined processes directly shape cost, schedule, technical performance, and product quality across cutting-edge programs.
Develop high-value engineering metrics and performance indicators that are practical to collect, scientifically defined, and tightly aligned with engineering and leadership objectives.
Transform ambiguous or complex engineering challenges into clear processes, structured data flows, and repeatable decision frameworks that improve technical accuracy, reduce friction, and elevate execution maturity.
Build strong partnerships across software engineering, functional organizations, and program teams — gaining experience influencing stakeholders, clarifying expectations, and aligning groups around shared engineering objectives.
Enhance your ability to communicate engineering performance in compelling ways by creating dashboards, scorecards, and briefings that translate complex technical data into insights leaders can act on.
Grow as a process-driven engineering professional, gaining exposure to governance, compliance frameworks, change management, and organizational improvement that strengthens long-term career development.
