Distribution Manager

Amentum is seeking a Distribution Manager to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The Distribution Manager is responsible for the performance of work and oversight of all contract matters relating to daily operations of this contract. The DM ensures and oversees all work requirements to ensure professional and quality services are provided to the Customer IAW Amentum leadership, international, US, DLA, PWS, and industry requirements/standards/criteria, while maintaining safety as the highest priority.
Full authority over contractor's distribution operations and workforce. Provides management, organizational, business, and technical leadership and services to ensure successful completion of tasks on a timely basis and within budget. Has the authority to resolve problems, allocate resources, manage personnel, and monitor operation performance taking direction from the Government to ensure complete satisfaction. Duties may include contract management, large project management and interface with the Government.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serving as primary government point of contract.
- Manage day-to-day execution and oversight.
- Ensuring compliance, performance and reporting requirements are met successfully.
- Designated POC in direct oversight and subcontractor management.
- Oversee all scheduling of personnel / work supervision / quality control.
- Monitoring cost control, financial reports, budgeting, and overall operating costs.
- Recommend, develop, implement, and enforce procedures/programs to increase efficiency and improve cost effectiveness to the program.
Required Qualifications:
- Five years of experience in logistics or contingency operations management
- Experience required, but not limited to, experience in managing projects, contracts, funds, and resources
- Minimum of three years previous experience as a warehouse manager and foreman, preferably in a government contract environment
- Certification from Material Management and storage operations including HAZMAT and HAZMIN
- Certification as a MHE operator
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Valid driver's license
- As needed, ability to successfully pass any medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of any deployment
- Country visa (as required in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide)
- Must be able to speak, read, and comprehend English.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 10 years government or private sector work experience may be substituted.
- PMP preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience providing excellent customer service in supporting government contract responsibilities in an OCONUS environment.
- OCONUS work experience with a multi-national workforce
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules and under pressure of deadlines while maintaining performance standards
- Strong analytical capabilities with respect to metrics and process improvement

Working Environment
This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in office, industrial, warehouse, port, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.
Physical Requirements
Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment requirements associated with assignment to a remote overseas location.
