Job Title

Director of Planning

CoorsTek is seeking a Director of Semiconductor Planning to lead strategic planning across its Semiconductor business segment, driving performance through the development and execution of integrated production, capacity, materials, inventory, and customer supply plans. This role will enable the business to make better decisions earlier, improve revenue fulfillment and customer service, increase visibility into supply constraints, and build a more resilient planning organization capable of supporting rapid growth.

The Director is responsible for leading the mid-term Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SI&OP) process for the Semiconductor segment, while also providing near-term planning leadership across the U.S. and Korean Semiconductor manufacturing operations for CoorsTek.

Responsibilities:

Semiconductor Planning Organization Leadership and People Development

  • Lead the Semiconductor planning organization by overseeing near-term planning across all U.S. and Korean manufacturing plants and driving mid-term planning initiatives across the entire business segment.

  • Foster a team culture based on accountability, structured problem solving, data-driven decisions, continuous improvement, automation, and strong partnership with manufacturing and business stakeholders. Enable a team to support Semiconductor business growth, higher planning-system capability, stronger SiOP execution, and more resilient day-to-day operations.

Near-term planning

  • Provide leadership and ensure effective execution at each plant via plant planning managers and planning teams responsible for production planning, master scheduling, order promising, short-horizon capacity management, material planning, and customer delivery execution.
  • Work with plant planning managers to ensure plant manufacturing performance, constraints, and recovery plans, are accurately represented in planning processes and communicated to business leadership.
  • Establish common planning standards, routines, metrics, escalation processes, and performance expectations across the U.S. and Korea Semiconductor planning teams.
  • Ensure the Key Customer Supply Manager is closely aligned with the plant planning groups to manage key customer escalations, including issue resolution facilitation, supply plan reporting, communication cadence, and support.

Semiconductor Segment Mid-Term Supply Planning Leadership

  • Own the mid-term (12+ months)  SiOP planning processes for the Semiconductor business segment, including capacity planning, inventory planning, material planning, and constrained forecast creation.
  • Work with the CTJ Planning Director to incorporate Japan plant supply capabilities, constraints, inventory plans, capacity assumptions, and planning transformation status into the Semiconductor segment SiOP process.
  • Translate demand forecasts, customer requirements, product-line priorities, and commercial inputs into supply plans, capacity requirements, inventory implications, and recommended operating actions. Develop options to mitigate constraints leading to negative customer, revenue, inventory, or cost impacts.
  • Lead the development and increased use of mid-term capacity models and planning tools in partnership with manufacturing, engineering, IT, finance, and corporate planning resources.
  • Partner with operations, product management, commercial, and finance to align supply plans with product-line strategy, customer priorities, new product launches, demand changes, inventory, capacity utilization, and cost performance.

Capacity, Inventory, and Network Optimization

  • Develop and execute inventory strategies to support customer service, revenue fulfillment, operational efficiency, and corporate working-capital objectives.
  • Successfully manage customer consignment processes to meet customer expectations while managing CoorsTek cost, control, and effectiveness.
  • Support inter-site planning decisions and coordination across multiple manufacturing sites, including CoorsTek plants outside the Semiconductor segment.
  • Ensure accurate and timely material requirement plans are created. Partner with procurement and internal powder manufacturing planning teams to ensure relevant constraints and supply chain strategies are incorporated.

Planning Systems, Data Management, and Process Governance

  • Utilize planning systems (SAP, QAD ERP, SAP IBP) to ensure effective planning processes. Champion and implement continuous process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Ensure that planning master data, planning parameters, bills of material, routings, work centers, capacity assumptions, and MRP inputs, are maintained with sufficient quality to support effective planning decisions.
  • Develop standard planning reports, metrics, routines, and dashboards, that improve visibility to demand/supply alignment, capacity constraints, inventory risk, and customer service performance.

Key Metrics

Success in this role will be measured by:

  • Sales revenue fulfillment.
  • Customer on-time delivery.
  • Inventory effectiveness.
  • Semiconductor SiOP process completeness, execution, and maturity,
