THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Imaging and Physiology Franchise is a cornerstone of Vascular's business, generating approximately $500 million in
revenue and demonstrating strong trajectory for global growth. The franchise serves as the strategic anchor for Abbott’s
best-in-class portfolio for complex cardiovascular patient management.
As we enter a pivotal inflection point—where software innovation, AI‑driven procedural guidance, workflow optimization,
and next‑generation digital platforms converge—the Imaging and Physiology business requires a leader who can bridge
strategy, technology, commercialization, and customer adoption.
This role spans both Upstream and Downstream Marketing and owns the full lifecycle from insight to commercialization to
global revenue acceleration. The Director will lead a dynamic portfolio with faster innovation cycles than Class III devices,
requiring agility, platform thinking, and expertise in driving digital adoption at scale.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON:
Strategic Leadership & Franchise Ownership
• Drive franchise-level strategic, tactical, and operational decisions that maximize global growth, competitiveness, and
clinical impact.
• Build and execute a cohesive long-term vision for Imaging and Physiology that integrates AI capabilities, procedural guidance innovation, and platform interoperability.
• Serve as the franchise champion within Vascular, influencing executive decision-making and ensuring investment alignment.
Market & Competitive Insight
• Maintain deep market expertise across imaging, physiology, software ecosystems, and digital interventional cardiology trends.
• Stay ahead of emerging competitors—including AI, imaging analytics, decision-support software, and workflow optimization tools—and translate insights into strategic direction.
• Anticipate category shifts and identify opportunities for new market creation, accelerating global adoption of procedural intelligence.
Upstream Marketing & Portfolio Development
• Lead full lifecycle management of the Imaging and Physiology portfolio—from customer insights → concept development → design input → product/solution launch.
• Translate clinical workflow needs, digital ecosystem requirements, and software user experience expectations into actionable design inputs for R&D.
• Guide R&D in requirements trade-off decisions across customer value, financial impact, technical feasibility, and development timelines.
• Shape franchise and platform strategy, including capital equipment evolution, software roadmap, modality integration, AI feature sets, and adjacent digital opportunities.
Downstream Marketing & Commercial Leadership
• Define and direct global go-to-market strategy for all new product introductions, including segmentation, targeting, positioning, pricing, reimbursement, adoption pathways, and sales enablement.
• Own the global brand strategy, narrative, and messaging architecture for the integrated imaging + physiology portfolio.
• Partner with regional commercial teams to ensure launch excellence, post-launch optimization, and sustained revenue growth.
• Drive digital adoption strategies that accelerate utilization of imaging and physiology in procedural decision-making.
Cross-Functional Partnership & Organizational Alignment
• Serve as the primary business partner to R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, and Medical Affairs to align portfolio strategy and investment decisions.
• Influence engineering organizations working across software/UI, hardware platforms, data analytics, and AI modules, ensuring development aligns with customer-validated needs.
• Collaborate with Clinical and Health Economics to develop differentiated evidence and commercial value stories.
• Support global supply chain, operations, and finance teams to optimize product delivery, margin performance, and lifecycle profitability.
Portfolio Planning & Long-Range Strategy
• Lead the Imaging and Physiology portfolio management process, including capital allocation, roadmap prioritization, and multi-year strategic planning.
• Develop and champion high-impact business cases for new concepts, platform expansions, and AI-enabled capabilities.
• Drive franchise forecasting, scenario planning, and global market modeling.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
• Build, develop, and inspire a high-performing team with capabilities spanning hardware, software, digital ecosystems, and strategic marketing.
• Foster an innovative, learning-oriented culture that embraces rapid cycles, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
• Provide mentorship and coaching to accelerate team capability and ensure strong succession planning within the franchise.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, Engineering, Data Science, Life Sciences, or a related field.
• Graduate degree -strongly preferred. Master’s degree, or equivalent advanced degree in Business, Marketing, Analytics, Health Economics, Data Science, or related discipline preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in Marketing, Strategy, Market Research, Business Intelligence, or related analytics/insights roles within healthcare, MedTech, or life sciences preferred.

• Strong business acumen, with the ability to link market and customer insights to portfolio strategy, commercialization, and financial outcomes.
• Exceptional communication and executive storytelling skills, with the ability to influence and align senior leadership.
• Experience in primary and secondary market research, including advanced qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
• Proven ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights that drive strategy and decision‑making.
• Advanced experience in market modeling and forecasting, including market sizing, segmentation, and scenario planning.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to operate effectively in a global, matrixed environment and navigate diverse stakeholder needs.
• Strong leadership and collaborative orientation, with the ability to coach and develop a team, build trust and drive cross‑functional alignment.
• High energy level and positive attitude; Strong work ethic, integrity, and professionalism.
PCIO-Specific Strategic Capabilities
• Experience with software-driven medical technologies, including digital platforms, capital-plus-software models, or AI-enabled tools.
• Understanding of interventional cardiology workflows and how imaging and physiology drive procedural decision-making.
• Experience managing fast-paced innovation cycles, including software releases, roadmap planning, and iterative feature development.
• Knowledge of competitive landscape and emerging digital-first entrants in imaging, physiology, and procedural intelligence.
• Proven ability to drive platform integration and ecosystem expansion across hardware and software portfolios.
