Director Enterprise AI Governance

Job Summary
• This role is responsible for providing strategic leadership to a team of managers and top contributors in engineering solutions, aligning with business goals and technology roadmaps. The role optimizes processes for value, quality, and productivity, overseeing resource allocation and budgets. The role collaborates across functions, communicates status, influences decisions, and manages outsourced partnerships. The role champions initiatives for process improvement and cost reduction, while ensuring adherence to standards and nurturing team growth.
Responsibilities
• Enterprise operating model: Lead AI Digital strategy, portfolio prioritization, governance cadence, funding guardrails, executive reporting, and coordination across federated teams, steering committees, and delivery groups.
• Platform governance: Own GitHub Copilot caps, credits, user tier organizations, model and feature controls, access, alerts, exceptions, and automation; administer OpenAI/ChatGPT/Codex provisioning, support, credits, attribution, and cost controls; lead Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Studio licensing, agent governance, environments, knowledge-source controls, credit visibility, and administration.
• Financial controls: Establish L1 ownership, cost center mapping, chargeback, allocation rules, budget thresholds, usage reporting, and Finance/Procurement operating reviews across AI products.
• Digital AI Nerve Center and intake: Operate the Nerve Center as the coordination point for use case submission, qualification, security/privacy review, stage gates, prioritization, funding, delivery handoff, risk escalation, and benefits realization, using ServiceNow workflows where applicable.
• Portfolio and partners: Manage Microsoft, OpenAI, GitHub, AWS, ServiceNow, Deloitte, and other partners; coordinate AI SDLC work, hackathons, pilots, and adoption programs as one governed portfolio.
• Measurement and value: Build monthly dashboards covering adoption, spend, capacity, concentration, exceptions, risk, delivery status, and realized value, distinguishing platform consumption from business outcomes.
Education & Experience Recommended
• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 12+ years of job-related and/or management experience, preferably in engineering design, engineering design tools and software packages, or a related field.
Experience and Qualifications
• Enterprise AI leadership: Progressive experience in AI strategy, governance, administration, platform operations, or technology portfolio management.
• Platform and financial operations: Experience with SaaS, cloud, developer, productivity, and generative AI platforms, plus FinOps, licensing, budgeting, consumption management, and chargeback.
• Governance and influence: Strong experience with demand intake, stage gates, value tracking, security, privacy, responsible AI, risk, compliance, executive communication, vendor management, and enterprise transformation.
• Preferred background: GitHub Enterprise/Copilot, OpenAI Enterprise/ChatGPT/Codex, Microsoft 365 Copilot/Copilot Studio, ServiceNow demand management, AI Control Tower, AI SDLC, and executive dashboarding.

The pay range for this role is $174,050 to $275,000 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
