The incumbent will drive pipeline development, capture & proposal activities, and BD‑process alignment while partnering with Capture, Strategy, and enterprise‑wide teams.
This position can be based at the Chandler, AZ or McLean, VA campus.
In this role, you will be responsible for strategy, portfolio management, business development, customer relations, partnerships, and capture support to ensure a robust backlog and healthy pipeline of domestic and international opportunities.
Core Responsibilities
- BD Operations Management – Own pipeline administration, opportunity tracking, and internal process alignment across the sector.
- Capture & Proposal Support – Conduct data analysis, prepare gate‑review materials, and maintain capture documentation.
- System Oversight – Measure, maintain, and enhance BD tools (e.g., Salesforce, reporting dashboards).
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration – Lead liaison efforts among Capture, BD, and Strategy teams at sector and enterprise levels.
- People Management – Supervise and mentor direct reports; coordinate training events.
- Metrics & Reporting – Assess key performance indicators and produce regular health reports for sector leadership.
- Governance & Compliance – Ensure adherence to Northrop Grumman’s BD governance and acquisition processes.
- Special Projects – Lead emerging captures, pursuit management, and other ad‑hoc initiatives directed by senior leaders.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (Business, Engineering, Political Science, International Affairs, or related) + 5 years relevant experience
or - Master’s degree (same fields) + 3 years relevant experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel & PowerPoint essential)
- Strong organizational, communication, and analytical abilities; comfortable presenting to senior executives
- Support coordination for key events or engagements
- Strategic thinking with the ability to influence senior leadership and customer decision‑makers
- Familiarity with the Business Acquisitions Process (BAP)
- Active Secret clearance at time of application
Preferred Qualifications
- Defense, aerospace, or government‑contracting experience
- Hands‑on experience with Salesforce, Tableau, or comparable CRM/analytics tools
- Deep knowledge of DoD acquisition lifecycle & capture‑management processes
- Eligibility to obtain a TS/SCI clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $121,000.00 - $181,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
