Overview
Yale School of Nursing (YSN) is seeking an Assistant Director to join a dynamic team in the Office of Admissions YSN, located on the beautiful grounds of Yale West Campus, is conveniently located near major highways. The Assistant Director is an integral part of the Admissions Office, responsible for the day-to-day execution of recruitment, admissions operations, and application processing activities. Core responsibilities include supporting the full application lifecycle, including prospective student advising, application processing, preparing files for faculty review, and coordinating the student ambassador program. The Assistant Director also serves as a first point of contact for individualized interactions with prospective students and supports the planning and execution of graduate recruitment and admissions events, both in-person and virtual. Additional responsibilities include assisting with the development of recruitment communications materials and planning targeted recruitment initiatives for graduate programs. This position requires occasional domestic travel for admissions-related events, as well as schedule flexibility for periodic evening and weekend programming.

Maintain application processing workflows within Slate Reader, supporting the full application lifecycle for master's and doctoral pathways, including prerequisite review for pre-specialty programs and error checking.
Support the Student Ambassador program by processing timesheets, coordinating event coverage, and assisting with scheduling and representation needs.
Process and track student files throughout matriculation, monitoring final transcript receipt and prerequisite compliance for incoming students in accordance with established procedures.
Serve as a primary point of contact for individualized prospective student outreach, actively managing the general delivery inbox and voicemail, as well as maintaining ongoing advising appointment availability.
Coordinate graduate recruitment events, executing both virtual and in-person programming, including campus tours, open houses, information sessions, and admitted student events.
Assist with the development of recruitment communications materials and the planning of targeted recruitment initiatives for various graduate programs.
Serve as an active participant in weekly admissions team meetings, providing strategic updates on events, operations, and the student ambassador program.
Assist with regional and domestic recruitment efforts, requiring occasional travel and schedule flexibility for evening and weekend programming.

5. Knowledge of the application process at a highly selective college or university. Ability to form relationships with prospective students and counsel applicants through the admissions process. Ability to communicate and interact with prospective students of diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills
1. Prior experience in recruitment, recruitment marketing, communications, event planning and/or admissions is preferred.
2. Familiarity with CRM system such as Slate. Strong preference for a driver with a valid driver's license.
3. Clear understanding and ability to communicate the values and mission of Yale School of Nursing.
Principal Responsibilities
1. Evaluates all admissions applications, interviews prospective applicants, and independently assesses each application against a variety of factors, including the applicant’s strength, weaknesses and potential contribution to the Yale community. Determines applicant’s standing within local, national and international applicant pools. 2. Presents applicant recommendations to admissions committee. Briefs admissions committee about applicants and about schools and geographical regions as they relate to evaluation of applicant files. Determines which applicants will be waitlisted 3. Develops public presentations designed to promote Yale to prospective applicants. 4. Advises secondary school counselors, applicants and parents on the application process. 5. Coordinates alumni recruiting activities in assigned geographical areas. 6. Serves as a liaison with organizations and individuals involved in the admissions process. 7. May perform other duties assigned. Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
