Architect
The Architect provides basic architectural/engineering calculations, preparing specifications, reports and related data tables as outlined in the core contract. Preparing, reviewing and approving drawings as required. Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups. This position will be in support of the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) and it is located at Al Udeid Air Base (AUAB), Doha, Qatar.
Essential Responsibilities:
Must be capable of providing new construction architectural services including concept and project development and scoping, preparation of floor plans, elevations, schematics and renderings.
Must be able to discuss the objectives, requirements and budget of a project; provide various pre-design services which may include conducting feasibility and environmental impact studies, select a site or specifying the requirements the design must meet.
Prepare drawings and present ideas for the Customer to review.
Develop final construction plans that show the building’s appearance as well as details for its construction.
Follow and assess compliance with building codes, zoning laws, fire regulations and other ordinances; promptly execute necessary changes throughout the planning and design process.
Attend and leads meetings as required by the contract.
Will be responsible for selected construction inspections, quality control, submittal reviews beyond the expertise of construction managers.
Must be able to verify design requirements and quality of work being performed on jobs/projects.
Performs other architectural work as required.
Experience & Education:
Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Architecture from an NCARB Accredited University with at least seven (7) years’ commercial (non-residential) project experience as a registered architect including at least five (5) years’ experience in a project lead role, and at least two (2) years of public/governmental organization experience.
Must have knowledge of principles of planning, project programming, project design reviews, project management and construction management.
FIT WENG 400, WENG 519, WMGT 301, WMGT 322, WMGT 422, WTSS 200 preferred.
Must be proficient in AUTOCAD 2025 or later and other Architect graphic software as required by the contract.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.

Outstanding problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.
Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
