VistA Pharmacy and Modernization Project Manager, Lead
The Opportunity:
As a senior Project Manager, you will lead multiple software development, modernization, and application-support initiatives supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs. You will help advance VA healthcare capabilities by coordinating technical teams, business stakeholders, VA leadership, and delivery partners.
You will manage projects from planning through implementation and post-release support. You will develop project roadmaps, establish milestones, track delivery metrics, manage budgets and scope, and identify risks, dependencies, and change-control needs. You will partner with VA business owners and technical teams to ensure that solutions meet operational, technical, contractual, and quality requirements.
Your work will focus on VA VistA applications and pharmacy-related capabilities, including prescription monitoring, pharmacy safety, system integrations, and modernization efforts involving IFCAP/GIP functionality and microservices. You will facilitate Agile ceremonies and apply Scrum and SAFe practices to support iterative delivery and measurable outcomes.

You Have:
10+ years of experience managing software development, modernization, or application-support projects for the Department of Veterans Affairs
Experience managing project schedules, milestones, budgets, scope, risks, dependencies, and change control across multiple concurrent initiatives
Knowledge of VA VistA applications and the VistA software development lifecycle
Knowledge of Agile delivery methods, including Scrum or SAFe
Ability to coordinate requirements analysis, solution planning, development, testing, implementation, and post-release activities
Ability to communicate project status, risks, dependencies, corrective actions, and delivery readiness to technical and nontechnical stakeholders
Public Trust
Bachelor’s degree

Experience supporting VA pharmacy applications, pharmacy operations, prescription monitoring, electronic prescribing, controlled substances, or pharmacy safety initiatives
Experience supporting IFCAP, GIP, VistA modernization, microservices, or healthcare system integrations
Experience working directly with VA senior leadership, business owners, or VA OI&T pharmacy stakeholders
Experience with VA pharmacy applications such as SPMP, PDMP, MOCHA, or FDB
Knowledge of federal government healthcare programs and related operational or compliance environments
Ability to mentor project or technical team members and support continuous process improvement

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
