Transportation Program Manager

Amentum is seeking a Transportation Program Manager to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The Transportation Program Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the planning, execution, scheduling, and routing of all freight shipments via land, sea, and air transportation resources.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage the Transportation, Material Handling Equipment (MHE), Movement Control, Arrival/Departure Airfield Control Group, Container Management, and Motor Pool Operations
- Work closely with project and construction management staff to develop plans, policies, and procedures for project transportation support
- Ensure transportation sections comply with contract requirements
- Facilitate effective communications throughout transportation organization
- Cross level assets (using on-hand personnel and assets, ensure sufficient capabilities are in place) to cover surge and demobilization requirements
- As available, develop or train personnel on all aspects of logistics
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum eight (8) years of experience in military transportation center/facilities with at least two (2) years in an OCONUS/ combat zone management role in transportation, freight forwarding, and/or supply chain management.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience as Director or Manager in charge of operations.
- Well versed in the Operational, Maintenance, and Administration areas/functions position of an industrial/commercial transportation program.
- Proven technical experience in interpretation and use of military transportation automated systems, civilian transportation management, and cargo tracking systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software.

- Must be in possession of a valid passport and able to travel internationally.
- Passport should be valid for at least one (1) year at the time of hire.
- Ability to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
- Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
- Valid country driver's license.
Employees must read, speak, and comprehend English to the extent that they can perform the contract requirements and comply with installation emergency procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Evaluation experience in site capability and limitation for depots, truck terminals, air terminals, water ports/terminals, and road networks.
- Skill in organizing and supervising movement, deployment, and redeployment of personnel and equipment in a military and joint environment with civilians.
- Previous work experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce.
- Excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, management, or associated discipline; may substitute two (2) additional years of experience in related field for each year of college.

Working Environment
This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in office, industrial, warehouse, port, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.
Physical Requirements
Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment requirements associated with assignment to a remote overseas location.
