Not RequiredHurricane Mesa Test Facility (HMTF) is a unique R&D test site specializing in ejection seat system validation using rocket sleds and subsystem test stands. The Engineering Test Technician will support sled tests, subsystem evaluations, and general site operations. This role involves hands-on work with energetic materials, test hardware, and custom-built fixtures that enable high‑speed and supersonic test activities.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
You will handle and test rocket motors as part of a test team
You will support test team activities involving the safe handling of CAD/PAD components
You will deploy, operate, and maintain test track hardware and fixtures
You will perform test tracking maintenance, including track setup and post-test water brake functions
You will assist with site maintenance, equipment upgrades, and improvement projects
You will build, repair, and modify test equipment, fixtures, and hardware
QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE
Experience with TIG and MIG welding
Experience in fabrication, layout, and working with metal components
Basic proficiency with standard office computer software
Experience with organizing and managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced test environment

Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER
Welding and fabrication experience with fixtures and test hardware
Manual machining experience (mill, lathe, etc.)
Experience with energetic materials (CAD/PAD, rockets, explosives)
Experience in R&D or test environments, especially ejection seats or parachute systems
General industrial equipment maintenance and repair experience

The salary range for this role is 41,400 USD - 72,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
