TEMPEST Engineer, Mid
The Opportunity:
Are you looking for an opportunity to use your TEMPEST technical skills and leadership in support of the F-35 air system and its facilities? As a TEMPEST Engineer, you will provide specialized emission-security engineering to protect classified information from compromise through unintended technical emanations. You will perform technical assessments, support secure system and facility design, evaluate risks associated with equipment placement and processing environments, and develop mitigation recommendations consistent with applicable Government standards. You will coordinate with system engineers, facility teams, security personnel, and authorization stakeholders to integrate emission-security controls into classified processing areas and operational configurations. By documenting findings, validating protective measures, and resolving technical issues, you will reduce compromise risk and help ensure that sensitive systems and spaces maintain the engineering protections required for secure operation.

You Have:
4+ years of experience with TEMPEST work
Experience performing TEMPEST and emission-security engineering assessments for classified systems, equipment, facilities, and processing environments, including Special Access Program and Sensitive Compartmented Information environments
Knowledge of DoD TEMPEST-related policies, directives, instructions and manuals
Ability to coordinate effectively across Government, contractor, and external stakeholders, prepare briefings, reports, standard operating procedures, and official correspondence, and lead a team in fast paced classified environments
Top Secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree
Certified TEMPEST Technician (CTT) certification
Nice If You Have:
6+ years of experience with TEMPEST work
Certified TEMPEST Engineer (CTE) certification
Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $62,000.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
