A Day in the Life

         

         

As a Team Lead IV supporting the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) Triton Program, you will play a key role in leading day-to-day manufacturing operations for one of Medtronic's innovative product initiatives. This position combines hands-on manufacturing expertise with floor leadership, helping ensure production goals, quality standards, and safety expectations are achieved while supporting the successful development and commercialization of next-generation medical technologies.

Working closely with supervisors, engineers, quality partners, and production teams, you will coordinate workflow, resolve production challenges, support new product builds, and foster a culture of continuous improvement in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

This is a fully onsite position (1st shift, M-F 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM) based in Danvers, MA, where in-person collaboration is essential to supporting our manufacturing operations and delivering life-changing therapies. 

Responsibilities may include:

  • Lead daily manufacturing operations supporting the AME Triton Program, coordinating production activities to meet build schedules and program milestones.
  • Prioritize operator assignments based on production schedules, staffing levels, and changing business needs.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, technical guidance, and support to production operators and assemblers while fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
  • Coach and mentor team members on manufacturing processes, standard work, equipment operation, troubleshooting, and problem-solving techniques.
  • Perform technical reviews and assist with equipment setup, changeovers, testing, disassembly, reassembly, and manufacturing support activities.
  • Monitor production flow and proactively identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Communicate production status, process issues, equipment concerns, and schedule updates to supervisors and cross-functional partners.
  • Collaborate closely with Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to support new product introduction (NPI), process improvements, and manufacturing readiness.
  • Support daily operational activities including manufacturing, shipping, inventory management, material movement, and production support.
  • Ensure all products are manufactured in accordance with approved procedures, quality requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Champion compliance with Medtronic's Quality Management System, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) requirements.
  • Assist with onboarding and training new employees while reinforcing standard work and operational excellence.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance manufacturing performance, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
  • Support additional operational responsibilities and special projects as assigned.

Must Have: Required Qualifications

  • Requires 5+ years of related experience

Nice to Have: Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience leading work, coordinating production activities, or serving as a technical resource within a manufacturing team.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and safe work practices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot production issues and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency using standard computer applications and production documentation systems.
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment such as medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Experience training, mentoring, or coaching production employees.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience supporting inventory control, shipping, material handling, or warehouse operations.
  • Mechanical aptitude with experience performing equipment setup, changeovers, or minor troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive working relationships across multiple teams and functions.

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$53,600.00 - $80,400.00

 

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Operations Incentive Plan (OIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
