Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector is seeking a talented Supplier Quality Analyst / Principal Supplier Quality Analyst (SQA) to join our growing team of diverse professionals. This position is full-time on-site at Warner Robins, GA, Oklahoma City, OK, or Rolling Meadows, IL and will support the Integrated Mission Solutions (IMS) Operating Unit, within the Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector. This operating unit primarily supports the design, delivery, and sustainment of hardware, embedded software, and mission planning systems on various US and foreign airborne platforms. The Supplier Quality Mission Assurance organization is chartered by providing the skills and experience required to interface with strategic suppliers to ensure products and services are delivered to meet or exceed internal and external customer requirements and promote mission success. 

This SQA position will interface with a variety of Manufacturing, Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Testing, Receiving Inspection, Program Quality Engineering groups within the Command and Control & Weapons Integration (CWI) Division located at Warner Robins, Georgia within the Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector. 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with IMU OU based Program and Global Supplier Chain (GSC) groups to manage key suppliers, ensuring that suppliers are performing to contractual requirements while ensuring their capabilities to deliver acceptable workmanship standards to drawing and technical compliance standards
  • Interfaces directly with supplier personnel and must be knowledgeable in and capable of assessing both supplier quality and manufacturing processes and procedures
  • Responsible for ensuring that suppliers’ flow-down quality requirements are applied to Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders per program-based requirements
  • Supports the maintenance of the approved supplier list and periodically reviews supplier performance to determine whether suppliers should remain on the approved list
  • Actively engages in supplier evaluation, qualification and selection as part of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP) and as new procurements are required on existing programs
  • Effectively perform supplier surveillance and audit activities designed to manage, monitor, and improve supplier effectiveness and performance
  • Lead on-site supplier engagements, including multiple-person team activities such as supplier quarterly performance reviews and audits
  • Support First Article Inspections (FAI) and review appropriate FAI documentations  
  • Support and helps coordinate the return of vendor material
  • Understands continuous process improvement (CI) and can effectively develop and execute CI initiatives and activities
  • Establish positive working relationships with suppliers by addressing compliance issues with deliverables and overall supplier’s quality management practices
  • Mitigate purchase risk to prevent/minimize business impact from externally sourced material defects
  • Initiate Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCARs) and work with suppliers, manufacturing, and engineering personnel to identify root causes and ensure robust corrective actions are implemented
  • Lead and report on Supplier Performance Management activities by analyzing system-based supplier performance data and identifying opportunities for improvement Proactively work to reduce and prevent supplier escape occurrences and verification of supplied maintenance services and any material defect claims
  • Perform investigations into supplier issues that may require using a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovation to ensure that robust corrective actions are implemented
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written) will be necessary to support and overview site maintenance activities
  • Be able to analyze and present data and status process to all levels of leadership
  • Establish positive working relationships with suppliers and internal teams. Represent the company with credibility, confidence and professionalism

This requisition is open as a dual level opportunity. We will consider candidates at a Level 2 or Level 3:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Level 2: 2 Years related experience with a Bachelors; or 0 Years related experience with a Masters; or 6 years of related experience will be accepted in lieu of degree with relevant industry experience dealing with suppliers.
  • Level 3: 5 Years related experience with a Bachelors; or 3 Years related experience with a Masters; or 9 years of related experience will be accepted in lieu of degree with relevant industry experience dealing with suppliers.
  • Experience with AS9100/ISO9001 audits and requirements
  • Basic experience with SAP transactions
  • Experience developing, collecting, and analyzing metrics
  • Experience in root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Presentation and data packaging skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAP expertise
  • ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 trained auditor
  • Familiar with NG drawing repositories such as MPLM, ISE, Teamcenter
  • Experience with drawing technical data interpretation
  • Experience with IPC workmanship and inspection IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, IPC/WHMA-A-620
  • Advanced Excel / Power Point Skills
  • Good Understanding of specific NGDS Supplier Management Policies and Procedures
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher

Primary Level Salary Range: $72,100.00 - $108,100.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $0.00 - $0.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
